I'm glad the hotel is having renovations because it really needs it. The hotel is not falling down but you can tell is stuck in the 70's . I picked up the hair dryer and holy macro it was heavy and the buttons were really old. Also smelled bad like something burning even though I was drying my hair. It... More

I know that this hotel is being renovated but, until it is finished, the stay shouldn't be subpar. The rooms are dark and dingy, bath amenities are lacking, no electric sockets to be found. Carpet is dirty. Bathroom light wouldn't turn off. Shower floor was [peeling off. And the television was 1980's. Front desk staff seemed uninterested in guests checking... More

Wowzers! I was extremely impressed with the service first and foremost, but then to hear all the wonderful renovations that are going to happen made me even more excited for our bi-monthly trips back to Amarillo. We used to stay here all the time but have started staying other places, hearing on their website that it was under a new... More

I really enjoyed my stay here at the Ambassador, its new name. The staff was terrific, and the location is great. Easy access in and out, lots of great food nearby. Good food in the hotel restaurant itself, and the property is nicely kept. My room was spotless, with a great bed, good towels, good water pressure, and comfortable temperature.... More

We were very impressed with the new management of the hotel. HMC is doing a wonderful job getting quality customer service back into the Ambassador Hotel! There are so many changes taking place and the GM insured or stay was pleasant none the less!I look forward to seeing the new renovations competed. Thank you!

To start of 3 elevators one sort of worked as long a the maintains guy stood at the bottom to open the doors. One up to the 8th floor I opened the door to my room and I was scared to enter. The carpet was filthy, nothing was updated beyond the year 1990. The bed was hard and the bathroom... More

First of all, it's not called the Magnuson Grand Hotel anymore. It's the Ambassador Hotel. We have stayed here in years past and had good stays, but, boy has it gone down. Only one of the three elevators works and a sign instructs you to hold the button until you get to your floor. The place smells nasty and musty.... More

Name change. It's now the Ambassador Hotel. This hotel smells clean upon first impression and then you start to feel the dingy 1980's feel. Rooms are dark and old, bathrooms have poor lighting, tubs have decades of use. Commercial bleach couldn't lighten this place up. Forget about the gym! It's worthless, dark and your more likely to become injured by... More

Shabby, and we were on the "luxury" floor--can't imagine what the regular floors are like. OK breakfast included in the rate for this floor. We were happy to leave--arriving was a convention of police and their drug-sniffing dogs. Barking up and down the hall. No decent place allows pets. Only two of three elevators in operation. Friendly staff at the... More

This hotel is a nice business hotel doing what hotels are supposed to do. Free internet and parking. Nice rooms with adequate temperature controls, clean bathrooms with nice showers, good firm beds and foam pillows. No frills but that's okay. Staff is courteous and helpful. Food was only adequate, but it is convenient to restaurants. Good workout area and inside... More
