We stopped here on the way to Albuquerque and had a fantastic stay. The historical home is very comfortable and inviting as well as tastefully decorated in a style that reflects the region. It is located in a historical district that is quiet and well-maintained. The room was very comfortable and private. It feels like you are coming back home... More

This place is like the Doctor Who's Tardis, it was huge inside and very nicely decorated. The owner Bonnie was very welcoming and took the time to explain local eating places and points of interest. Bonnie has four rooms in the la casita and we were in the suite which was delightful, it had a large bedroom and sitting room... More

Here is a little gem at the top of Texas. Come stay with Bonnie Rodriguez and you will enjoy a comfortable room and a delicious full breakfast and wonderful company. You feel like you're in your room and not just another hotel room.

La Casita del Sol is located in the Plemons Historic District, a quick drive from an Interstate 40 exit. Staying there is a delightful experience. La Casita is a historic house, a Spanish Revival lovingly restored by innkeeper Bonnie, who tells interesting stories about its history and her work on restoring it after purchasing a ruined shell "on the courthouse... What a wonderful experience! It was like staying with a good friend, we will never stay anywhere else in Amarillo. The room was beautiful, clean, fully stocked and the breakfast was to die for! Comfy bed, nice rooms, everything we thought a B&B should be!

We stopped here for a night on our way to Taos and loved it. The house is perfectly located in a safe neighborhood and close to a few great restaurants. The bed was great and we had everything we needed for the night. Sweet Pam recommended CRUSH WINE BAR- a nearby restaurant and a must if you are in Amarillo.... More

My wife and I, and I by myself on several occasions, have stayed with Bonnie Rodriguez at La Casita. For many years, driving through Amarillo on the way to New Mexico, we had to stay in one of the now ubiquitous hotels along highway I-40, which offered the usual stuff you get from one of those places--a decent bed, a... If you like B&Bs and are in Amarillo then La Casita Del Sol is an absolute must! Four of us on a two generation "Sister's Trip" had one night in town and this is where we spent it. House is gorgeous, Bonnie is both delightful & accommodating, breakfast is amazing, the biscuits are the best we've ever had and the... More

This restored 1920s adobe is a treat. Decorated with beautiful art, whimsy, cheerful color, and lots of southwest flair, there were many things to capture our interest. We stayed 2 days in the Enchantada Suite which was very spacious with a comfy bed, and private bath ( original cast iron tub), and lovely sitting area. Bonnie is a very gracious... More

Stayed at the La Casita July 17th and 18th, 2014. Amarillo has an abundance of hotels but La Casita is a Bed and Breakfast. The owner/host (Bonnie) was very knowledgeable about the Panhandle of Texas and everything local about Amarillo. The choice of restaurants in the downtown area were excellent and only eight blocks walking distance from the B&B. Her... More
