I come to Alpine at least once a year and stay for at least 3 or 4 nights. I always stay at the Highland Inn because it is an excellent value relative to the money spent. The place is always very clean and the staff are super friendly. I have stayed at most of the hotels in Alpine - including... More

Once again, Trip Advisor has posted a review of a Highland Inn in Alpine TX. My inn, the Highland Inn of SAN JUAN ISLAND, WA has no connection to this TX property, and this review should be ignored. Please check correct location in the future. Helen King, Innkeeper More

Not fancy, old & run down. But I knew that going in. What surprised me was how clean the room was and I never saw a bug. That's 5⭐️ In my book. We had been on the road for 15 hours, we were exhausted but it was 8 am. The Highland was the ONLY place that would let us check... More

Stayed here for 3 nights when in town for the Cowboy Poetry Festival. Needed a place that accepted pets which they do. Sam at checkin, as well as all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Think old school local motel. Still uses actual keys, etc. Not at all fancy but clean and a good stay at $50.

We arrived in Alpine on New Year's Eve driving from Van Horn en route to Big Bend. The last 10 miles was in freezing fog and on icy roads. We arrived in town at 5:15 and the first motel we stopped at closed at 5:00 due to inclement weather! Would not that be the perfec time to be open? Anyway... More

I spent three nights at the Highland Inn in Alpine and was perfectly satisfied. I loved the fact that my room had a tile floor. I think that's a great idea for all places of lodging. My king size bed was extremely comfortable, the shower had good pressure, the flat screen TV got lots of good channels and the ac... More

I had to make an unexpected trip which resulted in lack of planning in terms for a hotel for the night. Hotels in this area are ridiculously over priced but was fortunate to have found this hotel. The rooms and staff were friendly making sure I received great service the room is not what you expect compared to big cities... More

I was heading down to Big Bend and needed somewhere to stop for a night. Found this place and couldn't be happier. The man who checked me in saw I was on a motorcycle and gave me a discount for it, plus directed me to a room near the front office where he could keep an eye on it. Once... More

I have nothing but praise for The Highland Inn and Sam's wonderful service! I arrived in Alpine on the train en route to Marfa quite late at night and Sam was so helpful. The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable with nice bathrooms, TV and really comfortable beds at a great price. I returned to the Inn after Marfa to... More

Sam was helpful & friendly when we arrived at 9pm. The room met our needs, though not fancy the bed was comfortable and we slept well. There was parking for our trailer and it was easy to get in & out. We will go there next trip.

We stayed here for one nite on our way to Terlingua and the Big Bend parks. Based on Tripadvisor reviews, we expected just what we got: A clean, comfortable, cheap room that's barely been updated for at least 30 years. Both the staff who checked us in the evening we arrived (Sam), and the woman who checked us out the... More
