Sam was helpful & friendly when we arrived at 9pm. The room met our needs, though not fancy the bed was comfortable and we slept well. There was parking for our trailer and it was easy to get in & out. We will go there next trip.

We stayed here for one nite on our way to Terlingua and the Big Bend parks. Based on Tripadvisor reviews, we expected just what we got: A clean, comfortable, cheap room that's barely been updated for at least 30 years. Both the staff who checked us in the evening we arrived (Sam), and the woman who checked us out the... More

Alpine is a nice little town with some extremely over priced Hotels. I read the reviews and looked at the prices and thought this is a keeper. Do not let the drive up appeal stop you. Its old and pink and kind of unpleasant looking. Keep in mind most of the rooms are for students and are apartments. When I... More

I was surprised that such an inexpensive place was so nice and so clean. Service was top-notch and the room was really big. I'd absolutely stay there again and I'm definitely recommending it to others. The lady at the desk was a jewel, so friendly and she gave us some great suggestions as far as restaurants.

The service was fine. The room was what we had expected for the money. It was clean. It was centrally located and was convenient. I would stay there again.

"Sam" was friendly enough to start out, and gave some good restaurant recommendations. But then the cascade of errors began... There was no TV remote in the room so Sam had to bring one and spend several minutes programming it. Then as I got ready to step in the shower I noticed there was no soap supplied. This required another... More

We stopped here on our way back from Terlingua/Big Bend. Sam greeted us in the office and was very friendly. Gave us some great recommendations for eating. The room was clean and comfortable, very quiet. A previous review said no soap was provided, well they had it now. Bed was comfortable and the shower a good temperature. It is a... More

This motel isn't much to look at on the outside, but the room was clean. It is very basic. No soap or shampoo was provided, so keep that in mind. The attendant at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. Hotel is directly across the street from Sul Ross, so very convenient for those visiting students. Train tracks run... More

In a town with over priced accommodations, the Highland Inn seems out of place. The rooms are basic with tile floors and no pictures on the walls. The mattresses are not "pillow top" and there are no fancy locks on the doors into the rooms. The office staff is friendly and the location is safe. The room was clean and... More
