We arrived late in the evening and when we stopped in we were blown away by the friendliness of the attendant Allie who was working. She was very helpful and informative about the area and all of our destinations we hope to travel to. In addition, we loved how she was pushing an environmental friendly initiative at the hotel. The... More

Alpine is a lovely spot between Big Bend National Park and Marfa, and The Maverick Inn is an even lovelier spot in Alpine. The room was large, with a high ceiling. The furniture was big and rustic. The setting was altogether comfortable. The highlight of the trip, though, was the service from Allie. Her knowledge of the area was vast,... More

We arrived in town during an ice storm, but our key was attached to the door when we slid into the driveway and our room was ready for us. When we woke up, power was out in the entire town and would stay that way most of the day. Still, we had a wonderful visit in Alpine and loved the... More

We stayed at The Maverick Inn for 6 nights with our dog. We were actually stranded there longer than expected because of an ice storm. What made this hotel stay great was the personalized service and family feel that we received from the great staff working there. Becca, Georgie, Allie, Kim, Bobbie, and last, but not least, Terry, made our... More

We chose The Maverick Inn because this was our first trip to Big Bend Country and we wanted our experience to be more authentic. The Inn is a cluster of Adobe Casitas that are functional and comfortable. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about local area attractions and their breakfast buffet is more than adequate. The Maverick Inn is conveniently... More

The Maverick Inn has an authentic West Texas look and feel. The rooms have beautiful Saltillo tile floors and are decorated with classic Western elements - raw cowhide rugs, comfy leather armchairs, white lace curtains and knotty wood paneling. The rooms are warm and inviting, and, in the two bedroom units, have a nice separation to provide privacy between the... More

The Maverick Inn is one of the best places I've stayed. The larger rooms are more like cabins, and they're pet friendly! (One of the only pet friendly places in Alpine) Some of the beds are a little squeaky, but they're comfortable, and have two pillow choices. The breakfast is delicious, and there is a fridge/coffee machine that guests can... More

We planned to stay at the Maverick Inn in Alpine, TX as a stop-over on our way to Big Bend National Park. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out the way we planned. We arrived at this charming motel early in the evening. The receptionist was very friendly. She checked us into room 55, which was connecting with room 54. As soon... More

Erik-Elsje, Thank you for your review of our Inn. I appreciate your views on the pet situation and fully agree with you. I am the new GM for the Maverick Inn, however I remember you from checking you out at the Holiday Inn Express. I am so pleased that our front desk representative was able to book you into such... Husband and I decided to go somewhere we had never been before. Looked at the Texas map and chose Alpine/West Texas. Chose this place to stay for two nights. I am so glad we did. The Maverick Inn is a wonderful place! We were in room 52, it had a garden tub which was divine! There are already pictures of... More

I stayed at the Maverick for three nights in October 2014. We booked a deluxe king room, the room was decorated in West Texas style and was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom was small and the shower was small but not bad, the toilet was small and needs to... More

Mark W., What a great review. The Maverick was built in 1938 so some of the older rooms still have historically correct bathrooms. We know they are kinda small. Not all of our rooms still have the older historical bathrooms. When you want to book a return please give us a call and remind us that you would like a... More
