9 of us bikers took a week-long trip to west Texas and stayed in all kinds of motels. We are not a real picky crowd, but the Alpine Inn was by far the worst motel of the trip. It was the only one that was really unacceptable but we stayed anyway to have something to laugh about later. For 35... more

This was our second year to spend Thanksgiving week at the Alpine Inn and I truly don't understand the negative reviews. On both of our stays the room was clean, the management was friendly and our stay pleasant. The only true problem came when we returned from having Thanksgiving day lunch at the Prude Guest Ranch in Fort Davis (something... more

This properties website is very misleading! It states that there is a bar and restaurant on the premises. WRONG! There was no bar, no restaurant, not even a working vending machine! The rooms were filthy. There was trash and debris behind all the furniture, in fact the waste baskets in our room had not even been emptied when we checked... more

Reserved a room only to find when we arrived that we had no reservation, even though we did have a confirmation #!! Manager was AWOL and never returned calls. Don't stay here!!! Run, don't walk someplace else. We wound up at the Maverick Inn. Very nice place and friendly people. more

A little old and dingy. TV was big and flipped channels fast unlike most crummy hotel TVs. Stuff I plugged in was slipping out oddly. They said they had wireless internet, but then it didn't work. I called the front desk and the guy said he didn't know it wasn't working and couldn't fix it. No apology or anything. In... more

We needed a place to stay in Alpine for one night over Labor Day weekend and had to stay here because everything else was booked. It was awful. The carpet was filthy and smelled like urine. There were dead crickets and beetles in the corners and behind the nightstands along with other unidentifiable debris. Electrical outlets were missing covers and... more

We did not get to stay in the hotel so we can't tell you anything about how clean the hotel is. However, we do wish to warn everyone not to make reservations here. We made reservations here on January 17 for March 12-16. When I found a place closer to Big Bend, I called The Alpine Inn the next day... more

The first room I got in this motel was not too impressive. The room had a musty somewhat smoky smell (even though it was supposed to be non-smoking) and then I discovered the noisy climate control system would only cool the room but not heat it. Since it dropped to freezing that night, I complained and was moved to another... more
