We have stayed at the Holland Hotel two times now and have loved going there each time. This hotel is quite nice for being in a town in the middle of nowhere in West Texas. I love the town of Alpine as it is small and quaint but everybody there is so friendly. The town is a little old but... more

We were in Alpine last weekend and saw it for ourselves, the Holland was foreclosed on and shut down. There are new owners and I have read some of their new ideas, like a rook top bar area, that sound nice. The scary thing is Alpine is abuzz with very sad and concerning accounts of the rennovations. It is supposed... more

The new owners of the Holland Hotel had just taken over and the first thing that we were told, was that they were going to shut the hotel down for 30 days for a complete remodel. The woman behind the counter (Keith I think her name was?) was calling people to tell them that the reservations that they had were... more

The Holland Hotel is so fun! What a great place to stay! If you like a lot of space in your room, this is the place to stay-ours were huge! This hotel is so quaint, and it's right in the heart of town, and very inexpensive! The employees were extra helpful from start to finish. The restaurant downstairs has such... more

What could be better: friendly staff, personally designed spacious, inexpensive rooms, free laundry, great location (train didn't bother us at all), fantastic vibe - hated to leave. You have got to come stay here even if you only planned to go to say, Houston. And if you are going to the big bend area there is NO WHERE better to... more

I went with a friend to go see McDonald observatory and the beautiful West Texas landscape, and we had picked out a couple of places beforehand to check out for our stay, ending up at the Holland Hotel in Alpine. WOW. We loved this hotel. The man at the front desk told us our room would be small (we got... more

We stayed here on the way to Big Bend. I had seen bad reviews about the restaurant/brew pub. When we stayed there the management had changed and the restaurant had been closed. Although we missed the brew pub, the hotel experience was wonderful. The service was great. We stayed in the Crow's Nest, a tiny room on the top of... more

My husband and I are in our early sixties, and discovered Texas through its music around 8 years ago. We live in Wales, UK, and visit Texas every Spring. My job as a teacher means we have to limit our break to two weeks, so every moment counts. This year we took our second trip to Big Bend. On the... more

My girlfriend and I stayed here around Thanksgiving time while driving back home. When we arrived we were told that we were being upgraded to the Honeymoon Suite free of charge which was great. The rooms were super clean and huge. It's a nice quiet place, well worth the money. more

Upon arrival we learned that we were upgraded to a bigger room so our value was outstanding. Everyone working here seems to really care about making all the guest happy, you do not see this genuine hospitality very much anymore at any price. They let a large group of bikers park their motorcycles inside during a threat of severe weather.... more
