I have been staying at the Antelope for ten years now and thru the years it has slowly gone down hill. The last trip I booked over a month out and requested a specific room and at my usual bizz.rate. When I checked in they moved me to a different room and charged me an additional $20 dollars per night.... More

Dear "Michael G". Your review is clearly a form of revenge for you, and I hope it makes you feel better. There are, however, many factual errors in it. First, your "usual business rate" is a rate from at least 4 years ago, as we last changed our rates last in 2012. We have no record that you stayed with... More

New owners! Nothing like it used to be. WiFi is non existent! Ice machine has been broke for three years! No room phones, remote didn't work for TV, Roaches in bathroom. New owners not on site! Grass still needs cutting, courtyard is in shambles.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Lodge. Actually, the owners are the same as they have been for almost 20 years: John & Teri Smith. And we were out at the Lodge on both Friday (when I brought out fresh peaches from the trees at our home) and Saturday, but we must have missed you. I’m sorry... More

This place could be great if some money was spent on it. We stayed here after chasing storms for the day down on the Mexican border and called ahead and asked for 14 rooms which they were happy to supply. The rooms are divided into little cabins and are spread out over the property amongst little trees and cactus. Outside... More

The grounds were very unkept..laundry was out of order. Ice machine there was none and to get it at desk. They had a small bag..so you got a bowl full for your entire stay. the ice bucket in room was full of mold..bed uncomfortable, was not clean ...kitchen area had one plug you had to unplug one thing to use... If your looking for an out of the ordinary place this is it. Step back in time, but with that don't look for modern stuff. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on. Not firm at all, my wife got up and slept on the sofa which is not really a sofa at all. Not a... More

We found the Antelope Lodge to be much as the other reviewers have described, so I won't repeat much of that here. In general, though, don't stay here if you're looking for an upscale, spa-type experience, or you'll be disappointed. The motel is old but clean, and the plumbing is a little . . . well, temperamental. (Make sure to... More

We were stranded here during an ice storm over New Years. Most of the town was shut down due to ice on roads and the holiday. The kitchenette was a life saver for us. The room was very clean and the staff was very helpful. The center of the cabins looks like it would be so cool if weather would... More

The Antelope Lodge is a 1940s style travel court on US 90 just west of Alpine. Back before Interstate Highways, US 90 was a main route to the west coast and This was the type of place where people stayed. They have long since given way to the roadside chain hotels. The Antelope remains locally owned, old, and quaint. Have... More

We stayed here for a week with two boys. It turned out great, the place was quiet but with enough space to explore. We saw a few deer on the property, had a camp fire, and made use of the Kitchen and picnic areas. The laundry facility helped immensely and the staff were friendly and helpful. An upgrade on a... Great value for the money and very friendly place to stay .. kind of rustic, but all in all it's good quality .. quiet .. staff is very proficient and friendly .. if you want to use the wifi be sure and get a cabin that isn't far away from the main house, or you'll have to use your laptop... More
