I'm still very angry with this hotel for one reason: We booked a "suite", which most travelers associate with a living room and a separate bedroom. Their website is very vague about the description for the suite, and now I know why: it isn't a suite. It's a single room. A few feet away from the bed is a coffee... more

Due to a freezing rain/icy roads we were forced abandon our drive on I-20 to look for a hotel in Abilene. Being a member of Hilton HHonors we called them for the closest Hilton properties. The easiest to get to was the Hampton Inn & Suites Abilene. It is right off the I-20 (exit 286C). Being a Hilton HHonors member... more

Our family came to Abilene to celebrate our daughter's graduation from ACU. We had six rooms at the hotel and used the meeting room for a reception following the graduation. Every employee at the hotel was helpful and accommodating to our needs. The meeting room was set up exactly as requested. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The morning... more

Pros: -fairly new -clean Cons: -it's in Abilene (just kidding...but yeah Abilene sucks) -hotel has nothing else around it (no place to eat) Misleading: -says there are fridges in rooms (nope) -says there are pay per view movies (nope, and there isn't anything else here so no PPV is a deal breaker) My opinion: -go to the other Hilton property... more

I stayed at two Hampton Inns (Abilene & Austin) last week. The one in Abilene was $119/night including their tax. I was appalled that both Hampton Inns use polystyrene for their breakfasts; everything is plastic. Since Hampton Inn claims to be environmentally friendly, am not sure how they justify all this non recyclable plastic/garbage but it's a big turn off.... more

The hotel was fairly new and was very clean. The breakfast was better than the average hotel breakfast. We had no problems checking in or out of the hotel and the staff was very efficient. The room was exceptionally clean and even had a flat screen TV. I liked the idea of having a cover on the comforter therefore you... more

The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond their job duties to make my stay a relaxing one. The bed was the first bed I have ever slept in that didn't make me miss my bed at home. It was so comfy. Everything was so clean and neat and spacious. I left feeling refreshed and pampered. I will... more

Buyer Beware!!! When making a reservation, you cannot rely on this particular location to get it straight. I made a reservation for three rooms using my credit card. When I tried cancelling them well in advance, they told me they showed only two reservations, I insisted I'd made 3 and I was told 'not to worry'. Well, it's pretty easy... more

This hotel opened in late June 2007, and is exceptionally nice. My standard king room had a great layout that I've only seen at one other Hampton before. Much easier to see the TV (flat screen) from the desk compared to a typical layout. They also have large showers rather than tubs. My room had a superb A/C and the... more
