We were surprised to find this independent hotel at a fair price using a coupon book. The room was large and very clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower was very good. And wi-fi was very acceptable.

Wonderful hotel and very accommodating to us and our pets! Frances hosts the best breakfast and very friendly. The room was clean and they made sure to place us on the bottom floor to make it easier to manage our pets since we were in town for a dog training playday.

If you are in Abilene, and you are on a budget, the Whitten inn by the Walmart is your best bet. There are plenty of food choices within walking distance. This hotel gets a lot of team sports and business travelers.

Had to stay over night because my truck broke down, gave me a non smokers room because the smokers room they tried to put me in was ABSOLUTELY nasty! Next morning at breakfast there was a HUGE CAT sitting on the table where people eat, and while I was eating my Texas shaped waffle, I felt water dripping behind me... More

The night we stayed here the receptionist was very unprofessional.I asked for a veterans discount and an AARP discount and was abruptly told that on this particular night there were no discounts of any kind .Price I paid for room was unreasonable compared to other places I have stayed.I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

First asked for a non smoking room. ( we are smokers ) was told that smokers should stay in a nice smoking room. NOT. Went back to front desk and asked to be moved, we were told because we entered the room we had to keep it or just check out!! Horrible hospitality!!

We stay at the Whitten Inn twice a year for business trips. This trip was not as pleasant as there were some rowdy & very loud workers staying behind & above our room. The night manager was aware but nothing was done. The hotel needs to consider more handicapped parking spaces than the one on each side. The first night... More

We were moving across country & stopped at this less than average hotel. The next morning there were maintenance workers banging around making loud noise outside our door. My dog was scared & jumped on one of the men. The man wasn't hurt. 3 hours after leaving we were asked to come back with vaccination paperwork. We complied, next thing... More
