My sister and I stayed for 2 wonderful days while visiting family in Athens. I cannot thank Elaine and Richard enough--their hospitality was unsurpassed! They provided a rollaway cot for my sister, and our room even had its own little porch which we ate breakfast in on one of the days. Breakfast was delicious, and snacks and drinks were always... more

I spent quite a few weekends at The Majestic Mansion back in 2006 and 2007. My son lives in Athens and I wanted him to stay somewhere different from a hotel for our visits. I found The Majestic Mansion online, called, talked to Elaine about my situation and my young son and made a reservation for the upstairs room. We... more

For our wedding anniversary every year, my wife and I like to go for a weekend to a B&B or other inn within 4 hours or so of Nashville. We found a small article in Southern Living magazine this month that profiled Majestic Mansion, so we looked it up online (including TripAdvisor) and decided to make that our anniversary destination.... more

I am almost hesitant to write this review, for fear that we won't be able to get a room the next time we try! Do yourself a favor if your are traveling I-75 through Tennessee. Take an extra five minutes to drive into Athens, and escape the noise, the standard complementary breakfasts...the overall cookie cutter experience of a motel chain... more

The Majestic Mansion was a perfect place to get away for a quiet weekend. The Empress Room is wonderful, and the breakfast served was amazing! We will be back! more

The Majestic Mansion sits right in the middle of the "Old Town" section of Athens. There are quaint shops and historical buildings. When you're ready to do something more adventurous, there is white water rafting, hiking, etc. very close by. Richard and Elaine were very helpful in getting us the informaton we needed to experience everything from a family bowling... more

I can't write enough good things about our stay at The Majestic Mansion B&B. From the moment we pulled up to the house Richard and Elaine greeted us with open arms. The house is beautifully decorated and filled with old southern charm. My children loved lying on the hammocks outside. My son even took a nap it was so peaceful.... more

My family and I stayed at Majestic Mansion for three nights and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The accommodations are beautiful, and the breakfasts were so good, that the word "delicious" doesn't even come close to accurately describing the treats we were graciously served each morning. The friendly owners, Elaine & Richard Newman, could write a book on hospitality. Their attention... more

We went to the Majestic Mansion to get away from hectic city life, and loved every minute. We stayed in the "Empress Room", which has cool Japanese paraphenalia and a sunken jacuzzi tub. It was super relaxing, with wonderful, charming hosts, Richard and Elaine. They treat you like family, serving up generous and delicious breakfasts in their wonderful B &B.... more

When we first moved to Athens, we were stumped as to where we should host my daughter's annual Christmas Tea with twenty pre-teen girls until we discovered the Majestic Mansion and Elaine Newman. With Elaine's gracious hospitality, we pulled off THE best tea party at a more than reasonable rate. The Majestic Mansion is elegantly decorated in the old world... more
