The good: room clean, everything worked, bed was surprisingly comfortable. Rates reasonable. Suffices for someone needing a place to sleep and shower with TV and internet. The not-so-good: property is extremely dated and is in dire need of an upgrade. It looks as if nothing in the room had been changed or updated since the 1970s. (That is probably why... More

Check-in was easy and Gayle was very nice. We got to the room and there was water all over the bathroom floor where a pipe had broken in the wall. The water stain made it obvious it had been there for some time. I called the desk and was told what room they were going to move us to, then... More

The grounds around the pool (which was closed) was quiet lovely and quiet. Motel room was small and limited amenities. Bed was comfortable. Shower was either hot water or cold water! They did accept our pet with $10 fee. Continental breakfast was cold, limited pastry with coffee.

Stopped in off the road on my way through. Nice soft bed. Very good sized room. You can tell it's an older build just from the size of the room. It's clean. It's inexpensive. Right next to the interchange. I didn't go in for breakfast although it is on offer as well. I'd give it a go anytime.

After attempting to get a room in a nearby town we stopped in Athens on our way to Pigeon Forge. We checked 10 or more hotels before finding a vacancy at the Scottish Inns. The bedding and towels were very clean and fresh. I wouldn't choose this hotel in the future but was thankful to find somewhere to rest a... More

I decided to try this hotel, after reading reviews that weren't bad. I made my reservation and made it clear that I'd be using a coupon. At check-in, I asked to see a room. The room that wad going to be given to me did not have a microwave nor refrigerator: to which I need. I went back to the... More

Checked in and was given a 2nd floor room, hauled our stuff up there to find the key wouldn't work. Hubby stayed with gear while I went back to office. She reprogrammed the key and put us in a 1st floor room in different building so we had to haul our stuff back down and over in 92 degree heat.... More

Located near everything! Interstate access, gas stations, restaurants, Discount at Shoney's, Wal-Mart, the list goes on. As far as cleanliness- the rooms are cleaned as well as outdated pieces can be. Stay twice and never saw any bugs. I'd suggest following the basic rules of staying at hotels. 1.)Luggage stays zipped up on a table. 2.)Bring your own blankets &... More

I decided to try Scottish Inn although I normally use Motel 6. Not a good idea. Building looked like a run down Motel 6. The room needed painting (properly). Although reasonably clean, the AC/heating system was ancient. Although an AARP member, the attendant refused to give me the normal 10% discount. I will not stop here again.

i was impressed by seeing them take blanket AND bed cover off for laundry when a customers checks out. i know for a fact most places, even the expensive ones, don't do this. it's employees are very friendly, you get 10% off at the shoneys next door and you have a comfortable room with vintage (!!) furniture. wi fi works...
