I contacted Lowanda Gertz on June 21 to inquire about making reservations at the Allardt School House for 2 nights arriving July 31. I received an email stating we were booked and no deposit was required to secure our reservation. July 30 I emailed and called Mrs. Gertz to ask about picking up the key and paying when we arrived and was told she “made a mistake and rented the School House to a doctor for 10 nights.” She offered the Turner House at the same rate as the School House, I had no information regarding the Turner House (location, size, etc) and was caught completely off guard at the fact she rented the School House to another guest. And I was totally unprepared for the next statement from Mrs. Gertz. She very matter of fact told me “I don’t care if you stay at the Turner House or not as I am sick and tired of fooling with reservations." I replied that with her attitude maybe it would be better if she didn't speak with guests and she up the phone. more
