We stayed at Penn Hills 2 times. The first time we made a reservation for the weekend. When we checked into the room I could smell cigarette smell. I have asthma and I can't be around smoke. We went to the front desk which the girl was very friendly and she said we could change our room. She gave us... more

I was considering staying there for this coming Valentine's/ Presidents' Day Weekend but after reading all the negative reviews on here, I said "NO WAY". But then I thought maybe everyones over exaggerating and I should just drive up there and check it out. So this past Saturday, my boyfriend and I drove up there. YES it is a little... more

We stayed at Penn Hills on our honeymoon over 30 years ago and returned once about 20 years ago. Today as we were driving home from a weekend getaway in the Poconos we drove past Penn Hills. OMG - initially I thought it must be abandoned, but here I am reading reviews about the poor guests that have made reservations... more

I truly don't know where to start. This was truly the worst experience ever for us. The Villa's were musty and dirty. The bed was made up of couch pillows as a boxspring, futon mattress and a piece of ply wood to seperate the two. A shower with no water pressure that could not even rinse the soap off. A heart... more

First of all i would not call it a resort. It is a run down dirty mold infested falling apart hotel. All so- called activities associated with this hotel are practically non existent. The sports room is now being used for storage. The game room consists of broken down pool tables and ping pong tables and smells. The tennis courts... more

My husband and I stayed at Penn Hills for our 10th wedding anniversary. I had checked the website - and read the comments. I had also seen the rooms online and thought everything looked fantastic!! As we approached the "resort" (if you can even call it that), it was a little scary. There was nobody, anywhere.. We checked in, and... more

Unfortunately I found this site after I had stayed at Penn Hills. Had I read even one of these reviews I would have chosen a different place. The nightmare that everyone speaks about is true. The place has paint peeling from every building. The rooms are disgusting and smell like there is a serious mold problem. This would not be... more

OK - I'm glad I didn't read the reviews on this place until I came home. yes - the resort is old and rundown looking...yes - the rooms are older and not glamorous. but i think most every resort in the Poconos is like that now. Its heydey was was the 1970s and 1980s and they never updated after that.... more

Wow !! Talk about a dump. My husband and I went to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. Upon arrival we were greeted what seemed to be a throw back to the 70's. The receptionist check us in and we were trying to look for the bright side of our journey to our room. Once we made it to our room... more

We did not stay here but we drove by last weekend when we were staying at another resort in the area. We had gone to Penn Hills on our honeymoon almost twenty years ago and just wanted to drive by and see it. OMG, I hope for anyones sake that this place is closed. There were only two cars parked... more
