If you only need a place to sleep, this place will meet your need but don't expect much more. We thought all motel rooms had such things as clocks and coffee makers these days but found out differently here. Don't expect to use the internet for business because it was poor service and kept disconnecting. Like we said it was... More

Close to restaurants and activities in Altoona, Econo Lodge provides an affordable, clean place to lay your head. Locals make sure that your needs are met, but adhere to the schedule for continental breakfast. Don't be late, It closes at the posted time. For the $55 they even had a waffle machine. We met a nice family with ties to... More

Best: desk clerk was pleasant and helpful. The king size mattress was comfortable and the bed sheets were clean. Better: access key cards. Room was a nice size. It included a sofa bed. Good: air conditioner ran quietly. These points were the high lights. Poor: sewer odor; sewer fleas. Bathroom fan was noisy. I kept waiting for Scotty to beam... More

I read the reviews and I was already afraid to stay here.. But we did. When we arrived, the room had a strange odor, the carpet floor was filthy, the sheets had a yellow tint, there was NO alarm clock. The towels were fine but smelt weird.. Here's the kicker.. We originally booked two nights, but ended up only staying... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night with our small dogs recently. We were in town to watch an Altoona Curve game. The hotel's proximity to "People's Gas Field" is a plus, and if you're traveling with a dog like were, the big grassy area in the parking lot is also a plus. With this hotel... More

The Econo Lodge in Altoona is a property truly in need of an upgrade. I read all of the reviews prior to staying there and set my expectations low. That was probably the right thing to do as this property is not going to exceed anybody's expectations, though it is certainly not as bad as some have made it sound.... More

I had a great time at this hotel from the minute we got there. We attended the Pints for Pets Brewfest right in Altoona, which also happened to be the same weekend as PSU Altoona graduation so we were lucky to even find a room. We booked two rooms, and they were both very clean. The Customer Service was also... More

I'd like to first start out by saying that the Customer service I was provided upon check in at 11 pm was beyond adequate, as the Clerk was very nice. This hotel with a little work could be so much more than it is. I did take pictures to substantiate my poor rating to this place. My expectations were not... More

Since I was nervous about the reviews for this one I asked the desk clerk if I could check the room before registering. She graciously approved. No problems with cleanliness whatsoever. Room was a little more spartan than your more expensive motels but very clean and adequate. The disappointment came the next morning at the breakfast. I must have ran... More
