I read the reviews and I was already afraid to stay here.. But we did. When we arrived, the room had a strange odor, the carpet floor was filthy, the sheets had a yellow tint, there was NO alarm clock. The towels were fine but smelt weird.. Here's the kicker.. We originally booked two nights, but ended up only staying... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night with our small dogs recently. We were in town to watch an Altoona Curve game. The hotel's proximity to "People's Gas Field" is a plus, and if you're traveling with a dog like were, the big grassy area in the parking lot is also a plus. With this hotel... More

The Econo Lodge in Altoona is a property truly in need of an upgrade. I read all of the reviews prior to staying there and set my expectations low. That was probably the right thing to do as this property is not going to exceed anybody's expectations, though it is certainly not as bad as some have made it sound.... More

I had a great time at this hotel from the minute we got there. We attended the Pints for Pets Brewfest right in Altoona, which also happened to be the same weekend as PSU Altoona graduation so we were lucky to even find a room. We booked two rooms, and they were both very clean. The Customer Service was also... More

I'd like to first start out by saying that the Customer service I was provided upon check in at 11 pm was beyond adequate, as the Clerk was very nice. This hotel with a little work could be so much more than it is. I did take pictures to substantiate my poor rating to this place. My expectations were not... More

Since I was nervous about the reviews for this one I asked the desk clerk if I could check the room before registering. She graciously approved. No problems with cleanliness whatsoever. Room was a little more spartan than your more expensive motels but very clean and adequate. The disappointment came the next morning at the breakfast. I must have ran... More

Our job requires us to stay in a variety of hotels, most nice, bit some pathetic. This Econolodge, sadly, goes under the pathetic column. Greeted by a yelling front desk clerk, to walking into a room with hair all over the bed, this hotel isn't worth the money. Period. Which is interesting as we've stayed in Econolodges before that were... More

I've read a few reviews of how dirty this hotel is and I did not experience any of that. Stayed one night to visit a nearby college. Our room was pretty spacious. There was a nice mini fridge with freezer and a microwave. The television was an older model, but it worked. The a/c / heater worked well. The room... More

The room we had wasnt a dump, but it was an older place. There were no bugs, the place could have been cleaner. The room was big, the bed was comfortable although there was something nasty all over the blanket, but I bring our own stuff so what I took off the bed stayed in the corner till we left.... More
