My sister and I just returned from yet another wonderful stay at the Adamstown/Amethyst Inn! This is an annual "girls' trip" where we go antiquing, have dinners at the local restaurants, go shopping, and enjoy the beautiful countryside and places of local interest. We always return to the Amethyst for its central location and value, and have occupied just about... More

We enjoyed a stay on the last night of a week long trip. The hosts emailed directions including security code for door as our travels were delayed by heavy rain. We were very pleasantly surprised by our accommodations; The Topaz Room. After 1200 miles we did not expect such a romantic setting, he second floor space featured a firm queen... More

We spoke to them at 1pm yesterday - and within 5 minutes, pulled up their website AFTER they confirmed their Topaz Room was available. Made the reservation on their website immediately, AFTER confirming it was available. It is now more than 24 hours later, and we are LITERALLY walking out the door for our vacation, and get a call asking... More

We travel a lot, notably in the US, and thus we have seen lots of B&Bs. But this is one of the most inter-esting locations we ever ran into, if not THE interesting one. Firstly, one has to admit, Adamstown is not the center of the world. Thus nobody would expect such a place there. But (and this is secondly)... More

The staff was beyond accomodating. Their attitude was informal, yet professional. It was like we were family visiting. They were friendly and curteous. Breakfast was brought out promptly and HOT. There were fresh flowers on every plate and the food tasted like a true chef prepared it. Coffee, tea, water, hot chocolate, were all available any time of day. They... More

We enjoyed our stay in the Firefly cottage which is down the street from the Inn. It is a very cute antique home remodeled as an authentic reproduction of a home over 100 yrs old (my estimate). Although the house has many antiques throughout, it also has modern amenities such as microwave, stove, dishwasher (often rare in a rental), flat... More

We just got back from the Amethyst Inn today and I HAD to write a review. We stayed 3 years ago for our babymoon and stayed in the Ruby Suite, the largest and more pricey room. This time, we actually stayed in the smallest room, the Topaz room and I was worried that it would be a let down from... More

A truly wonderful experience. My wife and I visited for 3 nights for a long antiquing weekend. Tom, Wanda and their staff are great hosts and the Inn is beautiful. Delicious breakfasts in the mornings to get us started for the day. Will definitely be back. Doug and Ceil

My husband and I were married a year ago in June, and we never got a chance to go on a honeymoon. Actually, we are dairy farmers, and this was my first day off in over year and my husbands first day off in possibly over two years. So we looked around for someplace not too far away from home,... Stayed as a couple earlier this Spring and have procrastinated on the review. The place is old and somewhat quirky ( scary, steep and narrow side laneway to an awkward, small parking lot, ridiculously narrow staircase to the rooms, side entry which channels coming and going guests through the dining room ) but somehow, despite the quirks they make it... We would like to thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful response! "Quirky" is certainly affectionately appropriate for our beloved Amethyst Inn! While we wholeheartedly agree that some of our inn's charms (steeper driveway, narrow staircase) may be off-putting for some guests with restrictions, we would also like to encourage any of our future guests to utilize our street...
