Walk down the block to the theaters or for dinner, shopping or lunch. We stayed in the Chaucer room. It was lovely, comfortable, clean, perfectly furnished with antiques. The bathroom in our room was modern and beautiful. The breakfast was gourmet: Corn muffin with bacon and cider jelly, freshly squeezed OJ, egg cooked to order on blackbean with mushroom and... More

Historical, friendly, beautiful and comfortable....and walking distance from the exemplary Oregon Shakespeare Festival, beautiful Lithia Park and excellent restaurants. Every hope for a pleasant stay was more than amply met. The hosts have a contagious enthusiasm for the history of this 135 yr. old house and the breakfast was superior. You can't go wrong.

MCCALL HOUSE in Ashland Oregon is the quintessential bed-and-breakfast. With weather and activities to suit every interest short of skiing there can be no better place to vacation. The innkeeper supreme is Daniel Perry. Daniel is the ring master for a group of courtesans beyond compare. The details with which they manage your visit are exquisite and comforting. Your return... Visited Ashland during our summer vacation in August 2014. Had a very pleasant one night stay at the McCall house. Very interesting and historic property. Extremely convenient to downtown and the various sites. Visited during the annual Shakespeare Festival so the house and city were very busy. We stayed in the Chaucer room which was roomy with a nice sitting... More

We stopped at McCall house on a long road trip from California to British Columbia. It was such a welcome respite from the predictability and anonymity of chain hotels. The house is a restored beauty, run flawlessly by Daniel and Jake, who took care of us impeccably. It is a historic house with many beautiful preserved features and superbly kept... More

We enjoyed our two nights at the McCall House, staying in the south Carriage House which has a very comfortable bed and quality amenities. EASY walking distance to the theatres, and we felt very safe coming and going even late at night. The manager, Daniel, gave us a tour of the home, with all the history of its owners -... More

My wife and I spent a lovely night at McCall house in the Rutherford B Hayes room. The home was lovely and elegant, our room eminently comfortable and welcoming. We spent time in the evening by the fire in the drawing room downstairs, reading and visiting. In the morning we enjoyed a sumptuous feast of a breakfast, everything freshly made... More

Hey Jeffrey- Another local stay... I love it!!! It was great to have you and your wife here... and I love that you brought your extended family through the house for a tour! The President Hayes Room is a one of our favorites... you can't beat that huge bay window and the down chaise in that room. We also think... More

My wife and I only stayed one night, but the staff made us as welcome as any long time customers. The rooms are very nice, the hotel decor is charming and historical. The breakfast was top notch. Easy walking to downtown and many choices for good dinners. A traveler could judge all B n B's by the standards set by... More

We spent 3 days at the McCall house and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. This is what a B&B should be. It is Authentic, well restored, and maintained. The service provided by the manager Daniel Perry and his housekeeper Susan, and rotating chefs was excellent. Will definitely return.

Ezzat- Thank you for your kind review... It was a great joy to have you, your wife, your daughter, and family here. I love that your wife connected so well with our 'head of housekeeping' that she sent her products to try in the house... that was quite sweet, and they've worked well on our one hundred and thirty two... My wife and I had walked by this house several times and always said "We should stay there", so we finally planned a quick getaway to do so and enjoy Ashland. The McCall House and staff made our whole experience unforgettable. We loved the house and its history and charm (especially after learning a bit of both from Daniel). Though... More

Jon- So glad you enjoyed your stay! The house does have an amazing history. 98 years as a private residence and now 35 years as a Bed&Breakfast. Glad you enjoyed my history story and glad you liked staying in the Sleeping Porch. All of the rooms are great... but that room is the biggest... and it has the fireplace, the... More
