Ellen is a wonderful host and fantastic chef. Our favorite room, Aerie, on the top floor is well appointed and plenty comfortable enough for our 3 night stay. We were there again for the OSF and enjoyed that as well.

My husband and I enjoyed a delightful 2 night stay at the Chanticleer Inn B&B this past week. Our room was tastefully decorated and also very private. The bed was very comfortable - easily the most comfortable bed we have encountered at a hotel or B&B. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. I especially enjoyed the lilacs which are just beginning... More

We have been staying at the Chanticleer for years and are always happy to return. The setting is perfect, distance to the noisy part of things is just right (less than a 10 minute walk), Ellen's breakfasts are always delicious and not too big. Other guests are reliably interesting (and pretty much all Shakespeare fans). So, plan a trip this... More

Dear LoverOfShakespeare, Thank you for your wonderful review. It's always great to have you all back 'home'. You're right "Pericles" is very good. As it's not performed frequently, it's worth coming to see this year -- especially if one's goal is to see every play in Shakespeare's canon. -- Ellen More

My husband and I booked last weekend at the Chanticleer to celebrate his birthday and it did not disappoint. Ellen runs a very comfortable inn, within 10-15 minutes walk of the OSF theatres and five minutes from the Alchemy restaurant where we enjoyed a celebratory birthday dinner one evening. Breakfasts are unique and delicious. The common areas are comfortable for... More

Dear Ameriweather, Thank you for your lovely review. I truly enjoyed hosting you both. Thank you especially for mentioning that you heard the staff's foot falls while setting the table for breakfast. I have reminded them that they must very walk softly. -- Ellen More

Ellen was the perfect hostess. Our room was beautiful. The gardens were fragrant and enjoyable to walk around. The location was superb. It was very easy to walk to the downtown area. After a very comfortable night's sleep, we were served a wonderful tasty breakfast.

My husband and I just returned from our first ever stay at the Chanticleer Inn Bed and Breakfast in Ashland, OR. We had an absolutely wonderful trip largely due to the comfortable, convenient, and friendly atmosphere. Ellen makes amazing, healthy, and delicious breakfasts that were so above and beyond what we were expecting. Our room was large, comfortable, so convenient... More

I've been staying at Bed and Breakfasts in Ashland for a weekend or so every year for over a decade. Ashland is a great place for B&Bs, and my expectations are high. The inn itself is nicely appointed. Breakfast was good, though fairly typical for Ashland B&Bs. As it was early March, it was still heating season. The thermostat in... More

This B & B has become a home away from home whenever we visit Ashland's Shakespeare Festival. My daughter and I just spent the weekend, and were reminded not only the beauty of the place, but the warm hospitality of the Chanticleer. Ellen continues to amaze with her home cooked breakfasts, which are as lovely as they are delicious. We... More
