A beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Ashland. European style shared bathrooms (some have own bathroom). A different experience from the cookie cutter corporate places to stay, try something new, you won't be disappointed.

We always love returning to the Columbia. This time for the Film Festival. The rooms are well decorated, love the fresh flowers in the room, the downtown location is the best and the staff always helpful and kind. This is a very special hotel which feels like home and which we highly recommend on an Ashland visit.

When we arrived after a long 4 hour drive, the nice lady at the front desk just gave us our room keys, and said we could pay the rest of the balance later. I think we looked like we needed to rest a little. That was very kind of her. The accommodations were excellent. The beds were comfortable. We had... More

My sister and I stayed here 2 nights in early April, and our experience was good enough for me to plan a return trip with my husband. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, in the back on the alley. No, it's not fancy; yes, you have to walk a few yards to the shared bathroom; but for the... More

The staff was helpful on my arrival when I had forgotten where they were located. She gave directions on the phone. Comfortable, but noise travels between hall and rooms, so not great for young children. Also, many stairs to keep in mind for those with accessibility issues. I love staying here on my own for a conference.

This was a 3-day girls' retreat for my 2 friends and me. They had stayed at the Columbia Hotel last year and loved it so had no hesitation in returning. They shared room 4, with 2 full beds and a lovely view of the street, and I had room 21, which was a smaller single with a not-so-nice view of... More

We stayed with our two children. I wanted a place downtown, so we could visit Lithia park in the morning. I don't like chain hotels and was happy to be able to stay in such a charming place for the same price as a best western. Very comfortable beds, excellent staff, clean, thick towels, like at home. My son loved... More

The Columbia Hotel is a stone's throw from downtown Ashland theaters and restaurants, and is comfortable and fun - not your usual American hotel. It's old, but well-kept with a lot of charm and comfort. Think chenille bedspreads, locally made soap, fresh flowers and personal sink in each room. We had a shared bath down the hall which was fine... More

This hotel is a gem in downtown Ashland. The rooms are large and clean. The staff is very friendly. I would suggest getting a room with a bath, but even the shared baths were handy, clean and seemed to be available. The lobby is cozy. And we enjoyed the free Wi-Fi.

I love this old hotel! Excellent value. Comfortable mattresses. Perfect size rooms - some are large, some smaller, some ensuite, some are shared bathrooms. Quiet, even when I have had a room overlooking the street. Every visit there I have enjoyed the large-enough-but-homey lobby - especially wonderful in winter. the antiquity The location could not be better. Let's see -... More
