Our two-night stay in new-to-us Ashland was made all the better by this charming old hotel. We were surprised it's such a "skyscraper" (at 9 stories, Ashland's highest), and pleasantly surprised that it's so well maintained. As with most older hotels, the prices are high and the rooms are small, but comfortable and clean, with great bathrooms. The staff is... More

We stay here several times a year coming from WA going to CA and return, and have for the past six years. This well run, well managed property was the first of now several that the owners have bought out and brought back to steady success. The staff is exceedingly well trained and genuinely friendly and helpful. An historic landmark... More

This old hotel has been kept up and is perfect for theater goers. The rooms are small but complete. Everything worked and service was great. The hotel has a large, free parking lot and as all activities are a short walk this is a great advantage. The rates are high but the convenience is worth it for a short stay.

A perfect location to enjoy the Shakespeare Featival and the town of Ashland. Rooms are nothing special but the ambiance of the hotel, the friendliness of the staff and the hotel restaurant, Larks, make it a special stay.

When we come to Ashland to see a play or are just passing through and need a restful, friendly place to stay, this is where we come. For so many reasons. First of all, the staff is genuinely (and I mean that) friendly and happy to see you. The beds are very comfortable and the attached restaurant and bar make... More

Even though the hotel doesn't have every single modern convenience we loved it! The rooms, although small, were clean and comfortable. The bed and linens were great. We slept like babies as it was quiet and very peaceful. Internet access was consistent and reliable. Maintenance to the property was up to standards. All employees greeted guests with a smile and... From the moment Suzanne Peeks (Front Desk Manager) answered the telephone in April I was transported to another era. A time when the client really mattered, and you were not just another booking on the hotel factory chain. One week booking at this small boutique hotel, courtesy, and service from the very start of the stay. Rooms smallish, good bed,... More

Enjoyed one night here at the "springs". Beautiful exterior, wonderful architectural features on the exterior and the interior. The hotel is very cool. They have a mezzanine area with snacks, coffee, tea and water available to guests all day and then they have an evening snack. We were on the 8th floor, corner room. What a view. The rooms are... Not only is this a beautiful historic hotel, it is located in the center of a town AARP has recently included as one of the ten best small towns in America. We stayed one night at the Ashland Springs Hotel. Very nice and comfy bed. Bathroom quite small, particularly the shower. Loved the lavender bath sachet! Can't say the continental breakfast was good. I've had better at Comfort Suites! Skip it and go down the street to the Morning Glory. Haven't been there but heard it is worth the wait. We... More
