When I agreed to select the accommodations for a group of us planning to visit the Ashland theater festival, I was, frankly, a little nervous. What if I chose unwisely and then had to hear about it for the rest of the trip, including the looong drive home? Happily, I am here to tell you that, as wonderful as the... More

My wife and I stayed 3 very comfortable nights here. The hosts are gracious and thoughtful. They are very close by when you need them, but never hovering or intrusive if you want privacy. The decor is nice, but thankfully not the overly frilly flowery stuff you get in so many B&Bs. Our room was very clean with a huge... More

Fantastic B&B...colonial style house completely remodeled in tasteful, uncluttered manner, so different than the fussy style of most B&Bs. Lovely backyard with hammock and nice lawn chairs. Innkeepers Bob and Cheryl have thought of every comfort including super comfortable bed/400 thread bed linens, thick towels, etc. Beautifully prepared (and huge!) breakfasts with delicious homemade baked goods every day. Cheryl also... More

The Barking Raven is quiet, comfortable and clean, with hospitable and friendly hosts. Really excellent and plentiful breakfasts, served on the patio. Nice added touches of cookies and other treats, beverages - both hot and cold. Close to town centre and theatres. Bed was very comfortable and the whole place was spotless. We had a wonderful stay and would certainly... More

When my wife and I travel it's very important to us that we enjoy our surroundings and feel comfortable. If you read the other reviews they are all spot on! Cheryl and Bob did everything you expect a host to do. The room was great and the king bed was very comfortable. They even had little soaps and shampoo's in... More

I have stayed in many B&B's over the years, including several in Ashland and I have to say we were so impressed with the exceptional hospitality of our hosts, Bob and Cheryl and how well they work together to ensure their guests have everything they need. I was especially impressed by the impeccable attention to small details, like the nightlight... More

We had a lovely stay here. The house is beautiful and I loved the room we got (West Wing): the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom spacious, and everything was cute all around. There's a small but useful collection of books and DVDs in the first floor, for those days when you don't want to go out (and obviously, a... More

Stayed there for three days. I agree with the other reviewers, great breakfast, great hosts and valuable advice on where to go and how to get there. Spotless clean. Great living room. Free use of Wifi and computer. Plenty of free drinks and cookies. When we booked I was worried that with the proximity to the road it could be... More

Fantastic location with a park across the street. Bob and Cheryl were very accomodating and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had at a B&B... I would defintely return to the Barking Raven Inn. Great value for the price.

I felt completely pampered while staying at the Barking Raven Inn. The innkeepers make the most incredible breakfasts. I had super-crepes, unique frittatas, fresh fruit and juice, and many other creative things I don't know the names for. Besides all the basics: great location, WIFI, TV and a mini-fridge, there was always a fresh batch of cookies waiting for me... More
