Found this place on Trip Advisor. I travel a LOT and thought it would be different to stay in a silo...big mistake. It's a dormatory and not a nice one at that. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

In summer months when students leave for summer vacation the University of Akron campus as well as this hotel located on the campus goes dormant. The hotel restaurant and shops close in the afternoon, leaving the visitor with nowhere to grab a bite of food, a cup of coffee or even buy a bag of chips. From the hotel entrance,... More

I read that this hotel will become dorm rooms for the University. It is a unique hotel full of history that should be experienced

For $100 a night, I can't complain. The room was clean although tired - wedgewood blue walls, maroon bedding...you get the picture. The glass doors to the small patio were dirty. The room and bathroom were clean. One advantage of being out of date is that the shower head was great! The lobby was depressing. All restaurant facilities were closed... More

Just spent two nights here. Room was decent, roomie, clean. The hotel could use some upgrading, elevators were pretty crummy, the rest of the hotel was ok..dated. Nothing to do here or within walking distance, no restaurant or bar was open at the hotel, students were out so the place was empty. If you want quiet with nothing extra...ok place,... More

As a graduate of University of Akron you are eligible for a discounted rate. Traveling with Bardot the Pretty Red Poodle was very convenient with a first floor room that was HUGE. The location is most convenient - walk to campus and downtown venues; a few minutes to the highway; quick access to Cuyahoga Falls, Fairlawn and Tallmadge on surface... More

I stayed at this hotel while on Univ. of Akron business last fall. The entire experience was pretty depressing. While it may sound "fun" to stay in an old silo, you can get the same experience by staying someplace else and spending 10 minutes in the lobby. First, as previous reviewers have noted, only a few floors are for hotel... More

I found this hotel accidentally. It is not listed in most searches. It came up when I included "Akron University" in our google search. The whole student issue was very minor. They were quiet and well behaved. We didn't even know it was a residence until the second day. It was fun to stay in a silo. The decor is... More

I was in town on business. I stayed at this hotel as it was in very close proximity to my client. I spent 5 nights so I am pretty confident in my analysis. If you are a business traveler let me just warn you that apparently, this hotel doubles as a college dorm for the University of Akron, wish I... More

While the Quaker Square Inn at The University of Akron is NOWHERE near as bad as some reviewers suggest, I did find that the total experience is somewhat less now that it was when my tour group first visited this property back when it was a Crowne Plaza a few years back. As my group of 50 discovered when we... More
