Our one night here was great. We stayed in the Master suit. It was much larger than we expected with a large sitting room. The entire house is decorated with cool antiques. It was as clean as it could be. We could not find dirt or dust, even as we looked for it. Breakfast was 10/10.

This is a once and a lifetime experience- staying in the home of a former robber baron. The breakfast was delicious and the assistant who served me in the breakfast nook could not have been more friendly or accommodating. It's important to hire good staff; this reflects on the management. However, I echo the other commenters from this site on... More

The O'Neil House is a beautiful Tudor style home built back in the 1920's, by the founder of General Tire (back when Akron was Rubber Capitol of the world). It's run well, very welcoming, friendly proprietor, breakfast was fantastic (they easily accommodated our gluten-free dietary request). My only issues, not deal-breakers: (1) The floors are pretty squeaky, hard to walk... More

This is a beautiful old mansion-like home that has wonderful details and beautiful grounds. Our room, the Canopy Suite actually included three bedrooms which is great for family or persons traveling together but not wanting to share a bed or room. Breakfast was delicious. Our hostess, Shirley, was very nice and made us feel at home. I think her asst's... More

We booked the Master Suite for the night before and the night of our wedding. We made the reservation over a year in advance. When we first called to inquire about availability, we were told that the Master Suite was available, other rooms were available too, and that we could even rent out the whole house if we wanted. We... More

My husband and I visited for a one night stay while attending a nearby concert. Rooms were warm, had personality, and were filled with family photos and old books/letters from Gayle's family. I could not speak more highly of this experience. Breakfast was beautiful and delicious and the garden was magnificent and relaxing. Gayle was a joy to talk with... More

We enjoyed a quick stay at the O'Neil House in. Like others have mentioned the property does not have a sign and the welcome was a bit awkward, but Gayle was very accommodating and even brushed the snow off our car in the morning. The home itself is magnificent, we stayed in the sleigh room and the accompanying sitting room... More

My girlfriend and I randomly picked Akron for a getaway by googling what was in between Pa and Chicago. The spa we were going to recommended the O'Neil house. Even though it was the week after New Year's, Gail still had it decorated for Christmas. We had our own "suite" and felt so enriched by this beautiful house and hospitable... More

My husband spent last weekend at the O'Neill house. We were made to feel like family by the owner and all the staff. The house is so beautifully restored and maintained. We will definitely stay there again when we are in the area, as we have family near. If you want a beautiful, relaxing and just the most wonderful place... More

My wife and I stayed 3 nights recently at this beautifully maintained mansion. The service was suburb and we felt like part of the family. Excellent breakfasts each day. We had 4 of our local relatives join us for breakfast and they were equally impressed. We highly recommend this adventure in the past.
