Stopped here for 2 nights last week while picking up our daughter at camp. The room was adequate for the 4 of us-nice full kitchen. We were in a "end" room (the patio facing the side and a view of the wall). The room was very clean and sheets and towels were fine. Apparently most of these units are for... more

We stay at the Whaler Inn every year, the rooms are very cozy and clean. We usually stay oceanfront first floor because of the convience. We have never been disappointed and recommend this hotel to anyone going to Atlantic Beach. If your looking an inexpensice, cozy place to stay with a wonderful staff, this is the place to go. A great little place off the main drag on Bogue Banks Island of the Crystal Coast. Walk out your back door and your on the beach!!! Sit in your unit watching TV and take a look ot the left and watch the ocean. Sit on the porch with a glass of wine and talk with other visitors as they enjoy... more

Although the Whaler is an older establishment, it is very livable and it is such a family oriented place to stay. The staff are always ready to help in any way they can, beautiful views and you can actually sit out front in the adirondack chairs, swings, or at picnic tables and not even have to go out on the... more

Another great stay!! Wireless internet has been installed...yay! I love this place so much, I brought a friend this year, and she loved it too. The beach was lovely and we found lots of shells...new to my shell collection this year was a star fish, a sand dollar and a sea urchin. We visited the aquarium across the street, and... more

The room was clean and everything seemed to be in good repair. The ladies that greeted us on Sunday were very sweet, helpful and tried to make room adjustments because of my terrible allergies. Disappointments were that although they have wi-fi the signal strength to the rooms is not adequate, which seemed a little primitive for the times, but not... more

I would definitely NOT stay at this property again. The room had severely stained carpeting, the cheap lenoleum flooring in the bathroom was disgusting, and the towels were so old and cheap to the point that I felt like I was using a pumice to scrub my skin every time I toweled off. The shower head for the bathroom was... more

We arrived on a beautiful sunny day but our unit was not ready so we returned a couple of hours later and went into our unit. The unit was in need of much repair and cleaning. The rugs were spotted, the furniture worn and faded. One bathroom sink was so cracked that we would not use it to wash. The... more

Really can't say enough good things about the Whaler. It's not ultra brand new, super fancy, but it felt like home during our stay. Full kitchen, washer/dryer, great furniture, wonderful bed and can't beat the view. All for an extremely affordable price. We drove down hotel row to get to the Whaler and there is no place we'd rather be.... more

My husband and I were looking for an affordable but extremely nice anniversary destination, we came across the Whaler on the AARP travel site. Don't let that scare you, I am just a bit over 30. Anyway about the Whaler, great service, very helpful (from suggestions for dining to holding the stuff we left in our room for a week).... more
