This allegedly five-star hotel is anything but. It's hilariously over-decorated--gilt, fake flowers, stained glass glowing in the dark corridors. The lobby and restaurants are vast but empty, at least when we were there. (We shared the hotel with about three other couples and a Japanese tour group.) Not bad. room was clean and spacious. Aircon a bit dodgy and shower temperamental. Good pool and leisure facilities. Food ok - I had the buffet for dinner, lots of cold meat, cheese,salads,etc. 3 or 4 hot choices - mainly local dishes. A colleague and I wound up staying at the Esenboga Airport Hotel due to a snow storm that caused our Turkish Air flight to be canceled. The hotel was quite nice, though a bit dark.
