No minibar, but traditional wooden furniture, great location, helpful staff. Five minute walk to Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. Do not confuse this, as my taxi did, with Angora Hotel which is on a major highway. This local hotel is small, and located within the castle walls, by local craft stores.

We stayed a night here and wished we'd booked longer. It is a fascinating area and the hotel is lovely, our hosts were very helpful and welcoming. The room was lovely, very large and comfortable and very quiet at night. Delicious breakfast. Only a few minutes from the Anatolian Museum which is amazing.

If you are arriving by public transport, take the metro to Ulus and get a taxi up to the Citadel. Ask for the "kale". Its a considerable uphill walk and you'll have other chances to do it when your don't have luggage to haul with you. Staying up on the Citadel offers a lovely, quiet retreat (at least in October)... Angora House a Hotel is one of Ankara's best kept secrets. Found high on the hill just below the old castle in the old part of town, this amazing place is quiet, comfortable and great value for money. Really friendly staff, outstanding hospitality and breakfasts.. With only 8 rooms you just book well in advance.

We had an incredibly spacious and comfortable room on the top floor, with a huge bathroom. With 5 windows in the room, we were able to satisfy our need for fresh air when sleeping but aircon was also available should that have been needed. The delicious breakfast was great and was delightfully served to us in the hotel's private courtyard... More

Staying at the Angora House is like staying with a cousin who has a really nice home that also happens to be in a castle. It is close to the museums and we met some very interesting people there. If you enjoy history and living in it you will definitely want to stay here.

The Angora House Hotel is in a renovated traditional house. It is very clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are large and traditionally furnished but although there was plenty of hanging space in our room there were no drawers or shelves. There are a few good restaurants in the old city so no need to go... More

This is small hotel within the Ankara citadel (aka Castle). The rooms were surprisingly nice: well furnished, with beautiful wood work and fairly roomy. They were quite clean and comfortable. The counterpart to the pleasant "old-fashioned" feeling was the hard work of closing all the wood blinders of the (many) windows. Or the french door of the bathroom that cannot... More

Bring your own water bottle. None provided in the room. Very comfortable beds! and an accommodating restaurant next door. We had sporadic hot water for our showers. Good breakfast with impassive servers. Ankara seemed a little less welcoming to us than other places in Turkey.

The location of the hotel is super, because it's very near from the highest point of Ankara so you have a great view over Ankara Also you live in one of the oldest part of Ankara hotel and all other houses there are built in traditional old Turkish style - so you really get a very good impression of Turkish...
