This hotel is a former mansion that retains much of its private-home charm. As such it contains very few hotel rooms (perhaps 6 or 7 total). So service is decidedly personal. The historic area around the hotel is closed to motorized vehicles for most of the day. So don't be surprised if you have to walk the last few hundred... More

Perfect Ankara location - right in the heart of the old city with access to many important sites. Breakfast was quite exceptional. Genuine hospitality and a real willingness to help. Spotless rooms. Delightful traditional decor. Downside? Good, reasonably priced dining options are limited during off season and during the evening.

We've just spent 15 nights in Angora House Hotel in Ankara and we were delighted with our stay there. First of all, Angora House is a real house, with a real home atmosphere; this old Ottoman house has been tastefully renovated ; it's cosy, delightfully decorated with old Turkish rugs and kilims, and you feel more at home than in... Nice location at the foot of the Citadelle (Ankara Kalesi) and a walking distance (3 minutes) from the Museum of Anatoluan Civilizations. Beautiful rooms with lots of charater, great breakfast, very nice and helpful staff. At first, I thought that it would be too touristy but in fact, real people leve there. The restaurant beside (Asmali Konak) is very nice... More

Lovely hotel, the location was perfect to wander around the citidel. Only problem the hotel was locked up at night and a key to the front door and gate would have been ideal for an early morning start. The owner was a bit grumpy when asked for coffee in the courtyard and said no - then later offered us coffee!... More

it was our 2nd stay. and still the same courteous and excellent service. room was in great shape. small hotel with great ambience. the only downside is that the hotel doesn't have enough staffing to assist with luggage (as vehicles are not allowed inside the citadel. and it'd be tough trying to roll your large luggage across the "rough" brick... This hotel located in the old town area of Ankara is set up in a restored Turkish mansion and thus the whole place has an ere of history and is very well finished. The reception staff were very friendly and helful, even going out of their way to provide a packed lunch for us as we were leaving before the... More

I loved this hotel from the wide polished floorboards to the beautifully restored wooden ceilings, the smell of wax after cleaning and the delicious breakfast served in the atmospheric dining/lounge room with cared-for wooden furniture. It's a gem, as is the manager, Mesut, who was friendly, helpful and always smiling. The hotel is in a charming narrow street protected from... More

No minibar, but traditional wooden furniture, great location, helpful staff. Five minute walk to Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. Do not confuse this, as my taxi did, with Angora Hotel which is on a major highway. This local hotel is small, and located within the castle walls, by local craft stores.

We stayed a night here and wished we'd booked longer. It is a fascinating area and the hotel is lovely, our hosts were very helpful and welcoming. The room was lovely, very large and comfortable and very quiet at night. Delicious breakfast. Only a few minutes from the Anatolian Museum which is amazing.
