We had an adequate sized room, with a large comfortable Queen sized bed. The furnishings were ok. The flat screen TV had two English language channels. The room and halls smelled of tobacco smoke. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room. The bathroom had major problems, the shower head fell apart, and the shower door fell off. The shower... More

This was the last night of a 12 night tour and so expectations were low after arriving late in the day and leaving early in the morning for the airport. We were surprised as this hotel is exactly what we would have expected of a Turkish traditional theme - as soon as we walked in we were struck by the... More

It is like a joke to rate the hotel 5 star. In a cold october night the heating was insufficient. On the TV there is only government approved religious channels, you expect international TV channels in a 5 star hotel. The hotel is surrounded by cheap and dangerous night clubs although its location is a plus, not too far from... More

This hotel was a delight. The public areas and rooms were furnished with what appeared to be antique furniture. Like stepping back in time to the Orient Express. Only problem was at breakfast when several tour groups from all over the world descended on the rather small restaurant and small breakfast buffet. Only one coffee dispenser was a real bottleneck.

As you enter through the doors of the hotel, you ll think how on earth could this hotel earn 5 stars?? Breakfast is so disgusting that you can't even look at the bufe. The hotel is located among the poor night clubs. I woke up at 3 am hearing Gunshots!! Not a safe place to stay!!

We really enjoyed this hotel, the rooms were lovely, quite Bohemien in style. There was good quality toiletries and towels provided. The balcony was a bit wobbly,so we didn't use it. As we were there when the riots were on.The dinner was excellant, but the drinks were quite expensive. The breakfast was good too.

We stayed two nights mid-April 16-17. We would not recommend. The staff are unhelphul, the hotel is old and needs a re-make, dinner and breakfast so-so. Beds are hard, pillows uncomfortable. There is much better value to be had. Our experience was very similar to Flo413's review. JnJ

This hotel charges excessive prices for drinks at dinner etc. The room was small, bed reasonable but pillows not so good. The meals were not good with little choice. Ok for one night but couldn't recommend. No English channel on TV, in our room, although some were able to get it on a higher floor. The staff wer not pleasant... More

Pro points: Good spacious rooms, free wi-fi, bathrobes supplied, near to local stores and commercial district. Neg points: No English channels on TV, limited access to shower via door on bath ledge. Evening meal very average although salad selection excellent, main 'hot' course cold and poor quality, Breakfast 'hot' selection was cold and cramped tables in dining room. A nightclub... More

It's a little bit bombastic for me, but rooms are large and clean. The location is ok, if you stay just one night - you need to walk for half a hour to find decent café in the pedestrian area of Ankara (a city you can avoid in your tour of Turkey) and around the hotel only night clubs. Breakfast... More
