Camping here for over 20 years. Run by the nicest folks in The Smokies. Ramelle and Mike Smith make you feel welcome. Don't forget to introduce yourself to Huey, the campground tour guide. Plenty to do during the day locally, and a great place to kick back in the evenings. Family oriented! Dogs are welcome!

We camped at Turkey Creek Campground in Almond, NC this past weekend, and folks, let me tell you, it was absolutely beautiful! Tucked away in the woods off of HWY 28. Of the 79 sites, each were either gravel, asphalt, or tent pads. Water hook-up, electricity for all amps, fire pits and picnic tables at all lots. Bathrooms were beautifully... More

4-1/2 stars... Beautiful setting. Easily accessible. One of the nicest camp bathrooms we've ever found. Friendly & helpful owners. Free WiFi. Clean and quiet. Plenty of room for our pop-up camper. The only negative: the steep gravel path leading up to the bathrooms needs to be terraced with some steps, and it needs more lighting. On a dark, moonless night,... More

Staff was awesome!! Restrooms were so nice and clean as nice as a fancy hotel!!! There is a creek that runs through the camp ground it was so nice to fall asleep to the sound of water running through the creek. Coffee and fresh pastries were available in camp office for a small fee.

This is the place to camp!!!! Great campsites and so peaceful to fall asleep with the sound of the creek gruggling by. The owners are such friendly people and take that extra effort to make this a truly pleasant camping experience. The bathhouse is immaculate and youcan be sure that the peace and quiet of being in the woods won't... More

If having wifi, electricity, and nice bathrooms are important, this is the place to camp for you. If you want to camp to have some peace and quiet, in a relatively secluded site, with enough actual space to put more than only a 2 man tent, this isn't it. The proprietors were nice enough, and the location was clean, but... More

Stayed here with about 20 people doing a family/friend weekend . Once it was dark, the kids (about 8 of them) wanted to play hide and seek, but were told they couldn't. Not even 9 pm. Also the walk to the bathroom , up hill, at 3 in the morning is awful !! It's very clean , but not really... More

This is a gem of a campground. Most all of the sites are along a nice little mountain stream. The bathrooms are extremely nice. They are very clean and all tile. There is a small game room with a pool table. The lake is a short hike and we found a nice place to swim just across the railroad tracks... More

I have used this campground for 20 years and have never been disappointed. There are fresh baked goods and fresh brewed coffee in the morning and the no noise after 10 pm policy is enforced. Firewood and ice are always available and the bathrooms/showers are kept clean and in good functional use. Mike and Ramelle will work with you to... More
