Stayed here twice over 8 days while travelling through manila. Lets start with the positives...... the two ladies on reception that helped us were very friendly. They also looked after some of our luggage inbetween stays. Unfortunately, that's it...... We chose the more expensive room option in order to have our own bathroom. The first room we stayed in, on... More

Very appropriate as a one-night stop located close to the airport. That is why you will want to stay here: Location. The service is friendly, a comprehensive kitchen/bar offering and plenty of chilled space. The WiFi in the lobby was fast even when 10+ were loading it, and having come from the Islands this was a treat. Plenty of interesting... More

I stayed only one night and even though it was clean And convenient to the airport I find it really hard to say anything nice about this place. There are other hostels in Manila offering better value. The staff were unpleasant, unhelpful and everything seemed too hard for them. I had to ask them a few times if they had... More

My wife and I have just stayed yet again at the Townhouse Hostel for what is about my fifth stay. It is a little tired but is still very good value for money - remember that it is very cheap and you are getting value for what you are paying. I read the comments from others and feel that perhaps... More

Have stayed here a few times each time but with disappointment regarding cleanliness and quality of the stay cheapy air cons, the comfort or lack thereof and rude staff etc but compromised because I was just after a cheap place to stay overnight. Well you get what you pay for. The last straw was this....... This place may boast closeness... More

I arrived in Manila around 10pm and booked into the Hostel Manila as it was close to the airport and I had an early morning flight to Cebu the following day. First, the things I didn't like: 1. It's definitely old and tired looking. The whole building is dingy and really needs a serious makeover. 2. I had nothing but... More

Horrible place. Arrived to a very unfriendly welcome, then checked into the worst and most dated dorm I've ever seen, with the narrowest bunk beds. Comfort room is disgusting and dirty, with a bar of soap covered in hair. Wifi only available in reception area. Stayed one night, couldn't wait to leave!!

This place is so near from the airport that you can walk (which in fact i did, from terminal 4 less then half an hour) Tired looking, but some renovations are underway now But its main asset are the rates, 550 or 500 p for a fan room with or without bathroom, or 180 p for a dorm, you simply... Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Our Townhouse was opened as a hobby, after we'd traveled, worked and were lucky with business in Asia, Europe, and the U.S.A. for almost ten years. We'd stayed in bamboo, beach huts, Asian guesthouses, Spanish pensionnes, American and European campgrounds, hostels, Korean yeogwans and Japanese ryokans on shoestring budgets. We hooked up 'on the road' while traveling in Hong Kong, Korea and Japan in Dec 83, got married 2 years later in 85, decided to have a baby and knowing we'd miss the energy, excitement and adventure of world travel opened the door of our 3 bedroom 2 bath townhouse for travelers as a hobby in 86 which has grown and evolved to the present 35 private rooms with 8 rates from P300 to P950 and 4 bed dormitory. ... more   less
