This Chill-out guest house is in a very good location. Good restaurants near by from local Philippine food to Korean or Japanese among others, also walking distance to Manila bay and other places of interest, easy to take a taxi to take you anywhere.. The room we stayed in was clean, bed sheets too, cable t.v., free wi-f, .A/C, bathroom... More

We were so happy to get there! IMPORTANT: The adress of the Chill Out Guesthouse mentioned in the latest Lonely Planet is INCORRECT. Chill Out moved to Remedios Street after their old guesthouse burned down in april 2012!! We stayed their 3 different times: They welcomed us with open arms, always explained us how to get which jeepney across town,... More

We arrived late at night with a dorm booking. The dorm was stuffy and didn't look clean. Beds were ruffled. There were lockers. For this reason, the next night we changed to a double room which was nice. The common room is nothing special but there's tables, chairs, sofa, TV, mall kitchen and they have beer fridge so you can... More

a maybe 10-15min walk from Intramuros and near all commodities (huge mall 5-10min away). the staff (French) is very helpful and will make you feel welcome. rooms are basic but clean, soundproof and big, they have a fridge in the lobby and you can have beers with the other travelers in a friendly atmosphere. a cozy and fresh place in... The guest out is near by the 'intramuros' the old and historic downtown of manilla. Unfortunately the guest out is near by karaokeS and on the avenue very used by noisy jeepney. Concerning the room, it is very simple but the windows and the air conditionning system are not tight. Ceiling is old and some part are falling down (we... More

based on good ranking of this place, we book our first night in manilla there. we did not expect a five star hotel but neither a dirty place as we found our room: walls have not been washed or painted for ages, ceiling is falling apart, curtains were smaller that window size, tightness of the aircon system was not correct... Rooms did not live up to expectations, especially in consideration to how much was charged. Staff was not very knowledgeable about transport (and were not that interested in helping) - twice we were misdirected by the staff (the first when we were trying to take a coach from Manila to North Luzon and then again when we were trying to... This was my first trip to Manila, so I wanted somewhere which was cheap, central and secure. It took a bit of finding, as the guest house is on the top floor of a building, which also houses a massage parlour, and the Philippines Shipbuilding Association or suchlike. There's no hassle or mither going past the massage parlour, however, the... More

Not a bad place due to it's location, but over all the place is just average. Not so far from here is walkable distance to Rizal Park and it also near the US embassy and Manila beach. If you don't mind doing a good walk you can also make your way to Intramuros. The room is as clean as it... More
