A tropical island in a blue sea, with waving palms and cascades of beautiful exotic flowers. Kuramathi Island is a beautiful resort where seekers of paradise escaping the pressures and cares of the world can get away and forget the outside world. This lush green garden bursting with scented frangipanis, delicate hibiscus, bougainvillea and morning glory offers you a glimpse of the Garden of Eden. A gardener's dream and the ideal holiday retreat. Kuramathi has retained its natural beauty and is the only island resort to offer a choice of three different places to stay. It is larger than most island resorts-over one kilometre in length-and the three discreet locations each with its own unique character and charm. They are all carefully laid out and spaced so that you might never know the others existed. Wander the narrow winding paths lined with thick foliage that snake their way across the island. Gaze up into the ancient banyan tree and spy the cranes nesting in the topmost branches. Drift along sandy white beaches and dip your toes in the water to cool off on a balmy hot day, or turn to catch the cooling sea breezes. Only then might you chance upon one of the other resorts: Kuramathi Village, Cottage & Spa or Blue Lagoon. The speedboat or seaplane brings you to the main jetty of Kuramathi Village where you step ashore and leave the rest of the world behind you. Step into the main reception hall for a few minutes to rest, enjoy a cool drink and freshen up with a cold towel. From here on we'll take care of everything. more » « less

We stayed at the Kuramathi Blue Lagoon in June 2006. When we arrived we thought it was a paradise and were amazed!! The staff are all very helpful and welcoming, but they do give you a guilt trip about how much they earn so give them the occasional tip to keep them happy! The only problem we encountered was the... more

Four of us were in desperate need of a short break from work stress and as we have always visited the Maldives both for the spectacular diving and simply to chill, were terribly upset that we could not locate any rooms at the last minute except in the Kuramthi Blue Lagoon water Bungalows last week. After scanning many reviews on this... more

My husband and I returned from kuramthi just over a week ago. This was our first trip to the maldives and had difficulty choosing an island to stay at as there are just so many too choose from. After many hours on trip advisor and travel agent web sites we settled on this island. We were initial given a room... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at Kuramathi Blue Lagoon during March 08. It was our first visit to this island, although I have stayed at a couple of smaller ones previously. I was concerned whether Kuramathi would feel too big and not ‘castaway’ enough but how they’ve cleverly split the resorts and made them all feel distinctively separate this wasn’t... more

We had a lovely stay on the island of Kuramathi on an all inclusive basis. The whole experience was fabulous. On arrival at Kuramathi we were greeted by the staff and lead to the Kuramathi Village reception where we were given forms to fill in and a cold flannel and a non alcoholic cocktail. We were then transported to the... more

My partner and I stayed at the Blue Lagoon from 11/02/08 to 26/02/08 and cannot wait to return as soon as possible. We could not fault the place in any way. The room, the resort, the food, the service all wonderful. This was our first visit to The Maldives so we did not know what to expect other than the... more

We booked 1 week at this resort having never been to the Maldives or any where like it before as a stop on our way back from Hong Kong. The resort has a private boat as do many which takes about 40 minutes from the airport. On arrival its like landing in what you imagine paradise to be. The resort... more
