We had 2 rooms for just one night. One was a small double, the other a larger twin/triple. Both rooms well furnished and comfortable, although the deluxe double was very small and quite dark being inward facing, although was quiet as a result. The twin room at the front was brighter and larger, but with no double glazing or shutters... More

I had a room which faced the interior courtyard and didn't get any street noise. Staff were helpful with my requests for information and directions. Breakfast on the roof is pleasant. Nothing lavish, but completely adequate for starting your day. Location could not have been better; close to Jalan Alor and walking distance to other Bukit Bintang destinations. Convenience store... I'm little confused how to rate this hotel. It is very well located, close to key attractions of a golden triangle. Just in few minutes you can get to 'food street' or monorail station connecting to other city areas. Hotel itself is nice and cosy. Staff is very helpful and willing to help you. Rooms are small but clean, bathrooms... More

I stayed in Deluxe room 205 for just only 1 night. Hotel and Room: Hotel itself is very small hotel, decorated with Malay chinese furniture and nostalgia. Room is enough big for 2 people, there is everything such as hairdryer, fridge and bath amenities. But no bathtub and no window which faces to outside. Inside of the hotel is very... More

I'm very well versed with all the B&B along the streets of Changkat BB. So I had the ooportunity to stay the weekend at Anggun. Initially I thought it was the hotel which is across where it is, but I got it wrong when Waze directed me to the destination. I love the entrance and the hotel lobby. Open space,... More

The other reviews have pretty much said it all about this delightful hotel. It is quiet and clean, with friendly and helpful staff. The location is quite central, on a dirty, busy, *interesting* street with restaurants ranging from "local colour" to "international mid-market", massage parlours (the respectable kind) and other, some not so salubrious, hotels. Much more interesting than a... More

Decided to have a stop over on my way back from India. Chose this hotel thinking it would be a change from the glitz and glamour of hotel I had been in in India for many weeks. I was very disappointed. I was a single traveller and for the first time ever in all my travels could not book local... More

Being a frequent traveller to KL I decided to try a different style of hotel rather than the using the normal group hotels. Unfortunately for a business traveller this hotel doesn't meet the grade. The hotel staff a very friendly and helpful but this comes with a lot on cons... The roof-top bar was closed in the evening, the alternative... More

We really appreciated your valuable feedback and your patronage to Anggun. Truly sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience with your stay on arrival. Anggun is situated right in the heart of KL, in the old city where the juxtaposition of calm and chaotic, modern and traditional, ugly and sublime, foreign and indigenous that makes this... More

Arrived from the airport and was given a welcome drink whilst checking in.Staff were always helpful and polite.Good room and was pleasantly surprised how quiet the hotel was.Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace and you choose an option from a menu not buffet style.Felt this area of the hotel was under used. Now for the main criticism: On checking... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
An oasis of style and calm, this is one of KL's most characterful traditional boutique hotels located in Bukit Bintang, within 1 minute walk to the shopping malls, world-famous Jalan Alor hawker food street, restaurants, 15 minutes walk to Petronas Twin Towers, KL Convention Centre, Chinatown and 10 minutes drive to KL Golf & Country Club. Rates include free WIFI in room and whole hotel, internet broadband connected to LCD TV in all rooms and breakfast at the rooftop restaurant. Recently featured in CNNGo as one of the best 4-star boutique hotels in KL! Converted from two 1920's shophouses, most of the rooms look out onto a peaceful inner courtyard. The decor is incredibly tasteful, without sacrificing comfort levels for the sake of style. All the guest rooms have beautiful, handcrafted queen size teak beds, wooden furniture and wooden flooring. And the decor is traditional Malaccan with a contemporary twist. It has a lovely atmosphere. Why: Location, location, location. Authentic and delicious Malaysian food is minutes away; the city's best night life, within staggering distance. The shopaholic within will be duly fulfilled by city's highest concentration of malls. The Anggun's unique look and feel is a definite departure from big-chain homogeneity, perfect for the urbanite leisure or business traveler looking for an authentic and modern way to spend their time in Kuala Lumpur. ... more   less
