Kagamiya Hostel is a wonderful place in a quiet neighborhood of Nagasaki. It is quite easy to reach by tram, which also brings you to all the places of interest. There is no fully equipped kitchen, but the common area has everything that you would usually need in Japan. Toast and tea are free for breakfast. All facilities are very... More

One of the nicest guesthouses we have been to. The owners were really helpful, facilities were great and dorms very functional. The location was not that bad either, walking distance from the city (at least without luggage). Highly recommended!

It's a very Japanese experience, starting from the fact that you approach the hostel through a shrine. A very nice couple runs this hostel, and you have the typical tatami/wooden house mix that makes it so unique. Free toast breakfast, fast wifi. A bit long tram ride away.

I only stayed one night but really enjoyed my time here. The guesthouse is well located. It's only a 10 minute walk from the #3 streetcar line. The streetcar line goes to or near Nagasaki's major attractions. The hosts are all very lovely people, and were nice to talk to. They did everything to ensure my stay was pleasant. I... More

I stayed at this guesthouse for 2 nights in July, and I found that I was really fond of it! It's so traditional, cozy and full of warm atmosphere. The location was also good, not so far from tram station and family mart, where I bought Champon noodle cup, although I felt a bit far at the first time I... More

Nagasaki Kagamiya is quite possibly the nicest budget guesthouse I've ever stayed at. I can't believe I didn't write a review before! I stayed there in January and my friends and I still talk about how great this place was when we reminisce about that trip. The owners are really friendly and helpful and the building and neighborhood are gorgeous.... More

We stayed here with our baby for 3 nights in the Annex. It was comfy and affordable. We also had plenty of space to spread out. The owners were super helpful and spoke beautiful English. They even drove us to a restaurant for dinner! It's close to the street car station for easy access. The downside is there are a... More

Except the relatively remote location and a little bit dark in the neighborhood at night (need to walk uphill from the carstreet station, it's ok for those w/ a small baggage/ backpack but would be challenging for those w/ bigger ones), all is good. Friendly staff, nice decor, a well equipped guesthouse where you can experience the local life :)

We have been traveling 5 month in south east asia, and Kagamyia is definitely in the top 3 of the best places we stayed during our trip!!! The owners are more than lovely and very helpful! The ryokan is cosy and well decorated. The beds are really comfy and clean. The situation is good, its not downtown but its only... More

I stayed at Kagamiya Hostel with two friends in February 2014. We could only spend one night there as it was quite popular and there aren't many bedrooms, but we had a very enjoyable stay. The building is very pretty inside and out, with a temple and shrine just outside the garden. The rooms and futon were extremely comfortable, and... More
