The location is perfect for going out in the evening (and interesting for people watching). It's also very close to the tram stop. service is impersonal though, and they make you pay right when you enter, which doesn't really make you feel too welcome or trusted. The room rate was good, but the room also very small. it was the... More

Small room. Efficient and impersonal. Neighborhood access is extremely convenient but this hotel wastes no effort on the finer touches. Pluses: coin laundry, all appliances worked, convenient location Minuses: neon saturated, small bed, tiny bathroom, very corporate/franchise in ambiance

For our most recent visit to Nagasaki we decided to change hotels and try the Richmond. It was an excellent choice. The hotel has a lot to recommend it. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our high floor room was quiet, comfortable, overlooked part of the city, and roomy for a Japanese hotel. The air conditioner was excellent and thankfully... More

We arrived at Shianbashi by tram from the train station. We had thought that the hotel would be visible from the Shianbashi tram stop but this isn't the case. Here's what you need to know if you arrive by tram: as you approach the tram stop from the station, the hotel will be over to the right, so, when you... More

I have stayed in a number of hotels in Japan and this would have to be the largest room I have ever had, the room was comfortable and spacious and had everything you could need. Pros: Close to Streetcar, exceptional staff, spacious rooms, comfy bed. Cons: Bit hard to find when getting off street car (they have a sign at... More

A good quality hotel centrally located in the lively area of Shianbashi. We tried the hotel restaurant on one of the nights we stayed due to heavy rainfall and we were very pleasantly surprised with the quality. A sort of Italian fusion. I can highly recommend the Nagasaki beef. Rooms are slightly on the small side but it is the... More

We loved Nagasaki and we're surprised by its European feel. The hotel was a surprise. Sleek, modern with a large room in comparison to others in Japan. Helpful staff and spotlessly clean. We were humbled by the Peace Park and the many sculptures from around the world. Wonderful evening stroll from our hotel to the spectacles bridge too.

From Nagasaki station with streetbus nr1 at stop Shianbashi. At first a bit hard to find since one would think it would be on the mainstreet. I got help from the most friendliest lady who had heard of the hotel but could not pinpoint exactly where it could be, so after some street search on her phone she hand me... More

This hotel is a great find. Our room was a double, we got an upgrade and it had a small seating area. Stayed for 3 nights. Check in was great, they have a pay up front policy, where you pay at a machine in the lobby, slightly strange but they helped us out with it, so no problem. Good map... More

My partner and I stayed here for two nights and had a really enjoyable stay. The room had enough space, was clean and had a nice bathroom. The location is perfect with lots of bars and restaurants nearby and a tram stop just at the end of the street. Had looked into many different options before booking this hotel and... More
