You can consider this hotel if you are travel alone to Kansai area in Japan. It is cheap and near to a few stations. Besides, you can go for ofuro (Japanese type bath) in the chain hotel if you like it and it only takes about 1 min walking distance. There is washing machines and drying machine which you can... We only stayed one night in Osaka and Hotel Toyo was just what we needed. It was cheap, close to the train station and fairly well rated. It's super easy to find and the area has restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores and ATM. The rooms were small and very basic but that's all we needed. The showers were small as well... More

Although it's not the nicest area, it's right near the station, lots of convenience stores around and really close to Namba / Minami area which is really cool to walk around. I had a single room and my friends had a double room- both were on the smaller side but still really good for the price we paid. The showers... More

Hotel toyo in Osaka is an approximate 25 minute subway ride away from Osaka station, one might think this is a bit far, but it actually brings you very close to the exciting parts of Osaka(3 subway stops). The rooms(single without aircon) were reasonable sized for the price you pay, washing facilities and restrooms are available on every floor, there... More

Booked this place via Hostelworld-com -Only 1600-1800 yen a night for a clean small room. -Air-con/heather worked perfectly. -Close to train station. -7/11 and supermarkets close-by. -Location was ok, you can easily walk to Namba (only 20-30 min). One previous review described the area as a slum...I would totally disagree, I don't know in which fairy tale that reviewer lives... More

The room is totally fine, not too small as first thought from reading the review. (Anyway, we are Asian so the room size might not matter.) Whether hallway looks a bit old but always lighten and cleaned. We got 1st floor room which all facility available, toilet, shower room, laundry room and common room. Drinking water tank also available on... More

This hostel is a converted doya, located in the only slum in Japan. Most locals avoid the area, and for good reason. There are homeless drunks everywhere, passed out in the street outside the hostel in the middle of the day. At night, its very scary. As a girl returning late at night to the hostel by myself I felt... More

If you're looking for a private room (shared bathroom though) that suit your budget and close (like super close to station) the this place is your answer. Its like 2-3 min from JR Station Shin-Imamiya. For that price and we have private room that pretty decent it's quite okay. Its actually my 2nd time staying with this place. Just love... More

Hostel Toyo is in a great location! 2 minute walk away from the JR station and on the train line for the airport train! We had a little trouble finding the place but in the end we got there and the staff were very friendly towards our super-late check in. The rooms are comfortable, we had a twin bed room,... More
