A great hotel in a great area. Close to shopping, eating and the train station. The rooms are very small, but that is to be expected in Japan. The staff here, although limited in their English were very eager to please.

The hotel has a great location, only five minutes walking to JR osaka station and umeda underground station. The room is small, but should be enough. The price is reasonable. This is the place to stay in if you're looking for a downtown hotel with limited budget.

Strategically located for travellers. The rooms might be a little small, but they are always clean and all amenities are fully provided. The Osaka Umeda station is about 7 minutes walk from the hotel. there are a lot of restaurants nearby. You have a choice of Family Mart or 7-11 (both 24 hours convenient store) and the best Don Quijote branch... More

To be honest, I unknowingly planned my trip to Osaka and Kyoto during the cheery blossom season. I could not find a single hotel in Kyoto and this hotel was the only one I found in Osaka. But I am glad that I found this hotel. Due to these circumstances I found myself staying in Umeda instead of Namba and... More

Ended up booking rooms at the Hotel Il Monte for a short family vacation out of sheer desperation when I literally could not find anything else. My Japanese friends were a little shocked as they described it as being right in the Osaka red light district. I think their fears were unfounded (either that or Osaka has an incredibly tame... From Umeda Station, take exit B2. It's about 100 meters away from the station. It's across the famous Hep Five and behind it are the bars and restaurants that are open until the wee hours. I would recommend this hotel for those who love to party at night since it's very close to the clubs. The room is a typical... More

Actually rather good, comfortable hotel. Right beside the start of one of Osaka's busy night life streets and a little prone to being "busy" with what another reviewer has called "watchers". It never troubled me but it did mean some street noise at night. Room was quite spacious really for japanese hotel and was well equiped. Although it was not... More

I had difficulties to find it first, ask the... More

Location of this hotel is really great, located just 5 minutes walk from Osaka/Umeda station (heart of the city). Rooms are very small, even tiny. But very quiet and clean. Bathroom in my double room was quite large with very comfortable bath which was big enough for me to entirely fit into it (180). Breakfast wasn't very rich, but for... More

A bit old, had allergy to feather and found no replacement for cotton bedware. Overall quite old and badly maintained. However location is really good in Umeda, easy to find and to commute. Anoter drawback - especially if single woman travelling- would be the 'watchers' on ground floor. They seem to use the hotel entrance as their offices. Not that... More
