Those pictures posted by travels certainly look nice, but the reality can be rather different. The hotel has renovated rooms, and very old, shabby rooms in desperate need of renovation. In my room the furniture was from the 70's, a part of plastic bathrooms flooring was loose (mold?), bed was rock hard and I could easily hear the traffic light... more

The hotel is located away from Shinsaibashi and Amerika-mura, so you need to take a train or taxi to get anywhere. There are some sights nearby, I believe, but I did not visit them. You should know that there is not really much to see within Osaka's city limits, but rather in nearby historic Kyoto or Nara. Osaka is mostly... more

The staff was great even before I left for Japan. I emailed a manager from reservations and she was great. I got an upgraded room and it was perfect. We even talked about the World Baseball Classic. The bar staff was great, really friendly. Don't think I rested for the 10 days that I was there. For being a big... more

Excellent service by staff from baggage handling, check in and out as well as assistance in dinner or tour resevations. The location is outstanding, just above one subway/train line and across the street to the subway which goes to the JR Osaka station where you get the train to Kyoto. The large shopping complex next door has a very nice... more

Great location as we used it as a base for exploring Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima and Fukuoka. The nearby subway and railway lines connect you easily to the Shinkansen 'super-fast' trains to western Japan, local railways to Kyoto and Nara, and downtown Osaka (you can even take a 20min stroll to Namba walk where all the popular stores and restaurants are... more

Stayed here for 3 nights though it would have only been one had we not upgraded. My wife booked on the Starwood website and we got a got deal it was around 11000 yen for one night. When we checked in we were assigned a room on the 8th floor, which was only about the 3rd floor of guest rooms,... more

First off, I stayed here for 7 nights on the Cash and Points rate. That particular rate is an unbelievable value. As a SPG Platinum, I was given its top room type upon checking in. To clarify what some previous posters are complaining about, this hotel does segregate room pricing based on room type. Generally speaking, the lower room floors... more

My room on the 12th floor certainly wasn't one of those pictured in the marketing material. The chipped and worn furniture looked like it hadn't been replaced since the 1970's. The room had a VCR- given the state of the rest of the room, I wouldn't have been surprised if it was Betamax! (it wasn't). Every time the minibar thermostat... more

The room was a bit average. Big note: children are not allowed in the swimming pool. Much to the disappointment of our children, we did not pick up on this when we booked otherwise we would have gone elsewhere. Location is OK. Did not eat there so could not comment on food. more
