We took 2 rooms for five of us. Generally, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Japanese snacks and tea are always replenished. Then ensuite bathroom room is very small but well equipped with a mini bathtub, WC and sink. Toothbrush and toothpaste are provided. There is an in-house onsen at the basement for separate genders. Small but good enough. Bathrobe... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. Yamatoya honten has a really great location which is nearby the shopping street of doutonbori and shinsaibashi. Though the room was very small to fit in 4 of us but it's still a delighted stay :) They do have public japanese bath at the basement, not a real onsen it's just normal hot bath,... More

The hotel is situated really close to the entrance of Dotonburi street so its close to alot of really good places to eat, and the best Round 1 entertainment plaza ever in the world. Going to the train station is really close, and to get to a JR station is a 13 minute walk through Namba Walk (a nice underground... More

The ryokan is located at a good location across the road to Dotonburi and along the river. It is also pretty near to the train stations. There are lots of restaurants around the area and also shopping streets. Don Quitote is just further down the river..and if you walk even further, you will see the all famous Glico sign.. We... More

on the bright side, it has a great location - near dotonbori and subway stations like nipponbashi and namba station. i would also give credit for the complimentary japanese snacks in the room that are topped up on daily basis. downside though, i actually expect the staff to be a little more english-literate, given that they actually have a decent... Used this ryokan for a few nights at the end of two weeks in Japan. Eight mat room is spacious by Japanese standards and quite comfortable. However there were no seat backs for the floor cushions which is usually supplied in ryokan rooms. Location is excellent next to Nihonbashi at the end of Doutonburi Street. A subway train station is... More

DO NOT STAY at this hotel! We made a reservation at this hotel about 2 months in advance, and we also confirmed our stay by e-mail (as requested). We arrived at the hotel at around 11 o'clock in the morning, and the staff told us that they could not check-us in before 15:00. We left our baggage at the hotel,... More

The worst hotel we have stayed so far. The interior of the hotel is very old, carpet is very dirty and filty, wall has stained. Our ryoken room is smelly all the time. Toilet and bathroom separated. Toilet stink of wee the whole time. I will only go if I have no choice. We don't mind basic but dirty and... More

This hotel is about ten minutes' walk from the subway station. Getting there is really easy. It is directly opposite Dotonburi so this makes eating and shopping really easy. One can just go opposite to eat and shop. There are just so many things to do at Dotonburi and Shinsaibashi! It is quite interesting to see the host club boys... More
