After a momentary hesitation upon exiting the “East” and only gate out of Shin-Osaka station (from the Haruka Airport Express) we then followed instructions provided in detail by iTwins in Tripadvisor Nov 2013 “Best Affordable Japanese Hotel so far” to the "West" gate and right to the front door of the Hotel Laforet – just outside the station. Good size... More

Stayed here with the family for two nights in early January. We stayed in a room which allowed for an extra bed to be put in but once that was in, there wasn't much space left. As others have mentioned, the location is extremely convenient to the JR Shinosaka Station so if this your launch pad to go to Kyoto,... More

- exit at the normal JR Lines (not the Shinkansen JR Lines exit) turn right and walk straight all the way to the end to find West Gate exit (near washrooms and Lost & Found office). Turn right, under the bridge walk straight and look up for the Hotel LaForet sign. You can't miss it. If exiting from the Shinkansen... More

Hotel Laforet Shin Osaka are just behind Shin-Osaka station. Lacation is very convenient. Hotel twinbed rooms room big and clean. Bathroom amenities are Shiseido, I love them. Hotel staff can speak English fluently. They are freindly and helpful. I didn't try buffet breakfast, so can not comment. They are McDonald near this hotel, 1 minute walk. Free WIFi are available... The room was bigger than other hotels I have stayed in Japan, and the room was very well kept. The cleanliness of the room was excellent. As others have said, English is not widely spoken by the hotel staff, but with hand signals and notes I was able to get by without any problem. No Wifi (only in room cable... More

The only positive aspect of our stay (1 night) was the location... the hotel is very close to the Shin-Osaka train station. The hotel requires some renovation and the staff (especially the people at front desk in the night shift) is not used to deal with international travellers. We were travelling with two kids and we were not able to... More

Being located adjacent to the train station was very handy but it's a business area so not much for the tourist to see in the immediate area. Restaurants in the hotel were nice but extremely overpriced. Room was clean. Staff spoke the least English we encountered during our trip but were helpful and patient with our attempts at Japanese.

Beginning of April 2013. Hotel adjacent to the train station Shin-Osaka and therefore very convenient for those coming in and out with the JR. A bit noisy at the side facing the tracks. Very large rooms (both standard twin premium double that costs slightly more) biggest we had in Japan. Very comfortable room. In contrast to the other hotels, here... More

It's a little costly but for the price you get a huge room (at least compared to my experience of Japanese hotels). The location is also great, being next to a major station giving easy access to the metro, Kansai airport and Kyoto.
