Our 2 day stay in Nagano was made easy by staying at this business hotel. It is a short walk from the JR train station and the bus stops for trips into surrounding country. The entry door (next to convenince store) is on ground level of a large shopping complex. This is your first challenge but once found easy to... More

Typical business hotel with small rooms and compact bathroom. This hotel is pretty new and the decoration is not bad, in a modern style, so the atmosphere is above average. The hotel is in the fifth plant of a commercial building. We didn't have any issues finding it, as it has a front sign in western characters above the entrance.... More

A good hotel nicely located in the centre of town. Close to train station as well as bus station (easy walking distance). Staff was friendly and service minded. Rooms small, but well organised. You get to reception by taking the elevator from street level to fifth floor. Then there is a separate elevator to the rooms (above fifth floor). Breakfast:... More

The one and only fault with this hotel is the tiny size of the room. There is literally only enough space for you to walk between the bedroom and bathroom. There is hardly enough room to fit luggage in the room. And the double bed seemed smaller than usual (or possibly it was just my imagination) The room is new... More

Hotel Sunroute is a little difficult to find at first as it is not too obviously advertised (it begins on the 5th floor of the building in which it is in). However once you have found it it isn't a big deal and is very easy to find again due to its close proximity to Nagano JR station (very convenient).... More

Be advised that there are two "Hotel Sunroute" in Nagano. One is the "Higashiguchi" (east entrance) and the other, just plain "Sunroute" at the opposite side of Nagano station. You will not recognize it, since the small entrance is next to a convenience store with no sign. The hotel itself is at the fifth floor of a commercial building, so... More

So, we checked into the hotel and were told that the only rooms that were available were smoking rooms... we asked if we could see the room first to see how smokey the room was. If it was too saturated with cigarette smoke, we would go to another hotel. We said "can we see the room first?", which in any... More

The hotel itself doesn't look like much from the outside as it is in the 5-12 floors of an ordinary looking building but the front lobby was nice and offered free wifi. The staff was freindly and trustworthy. The room was a good size, quiet, with a comfortable bed. The hotel is in walking distance of the train station. All... More
