Our first stop on our JR rail tour was Nagano. We found the hotel easily; it was approximately a ten-minute walk northeast along the main road. We passed the Comfort Inn/hotel and approached an intersection. The hotel was just around the corner and easily accessible. The sign on the hotel was obvious. The reception was cordial. In fact, we had... More

Great hotel and a good price. Quite large (by Japanese standard) rooms and well equipped. Excellent staff. English no problems at all. Its a short walk to the railway and bus stations and also to the center of this delightful town with its maze of back streets containing a huge range of eateries, pubs, shops and convenience stores. The Hotel... More

We spent two nights in Nagano and stayed at the Chisun Grand. The Hotel is located a short 5 minute walk from the JR train station in Nagano. Checkin was a breeze, the staff we had spoke good English. We pre-booked the room for a rather reasonable rate. The rooms are rather spacious and have all the basics you would... More

We managed to get a double room for 35 pounds a night so it is quite difficult to fault the hotel at that level. The room was fairly small but still had all the amenities I would expect (ac , tv, shower gels , toothbrushes). Location is reasonable and around 5 to 10 min from the station. Staff were very... We stayed here for two nights and were very happy. It is a short walk to the railway and bus station were we arrived. Also we caught the bus at the station to go to see the snow monkeys. Lots of convenience stores on the walk back to the hotel to pick up alcohol or nibbles. Close to the city... More

I knew that the Chisun Grand in Nagano was going to give me one of the largest rooms that I would have on my trip around Japan. A former Holiday Inn built for the Olympics the hotel has large rooms and very western style and size bathrooms. I swam into the hotel in a major rainstorm and dripped my way... More

I had a one night stay at this hotel in April 2014. Room was very spacious and clean. Location was good – quiet area and only few minutes’ walk to the railway station. Room decoration a bit old fashioned. Anyway, very good value for money. Nagano was a very beautiful city.

10min walk from Nagano station. Quiet rooms. Well appointed. Quite spacious compared to other business hotels. A good bathroom.Air con v. efficient. Close to eateries. We did not have the buffet breakfast (1100 yen) so cannot comment. Bus nr hotel to take you to Zenkoji Temple. Overall a good stay for a few nights.

Went to nagano to see the snow monkeys overnight. Arrived early and left our bags with the hotel. Staff were professional and friendly. One lady had perfect English and gave us written directions for transport to see the monkey park. When we came back they had upgraded us to a bigger room and put our bags in the room. One... More
