We very much enjoyed our stay here, the host was very friendly, the food delicious and there was plenty of it, and the room we stayed in was clean, traditional and the perfect size for our family. It was fun to imagine all the people and history this building has seen. We stayed with our three small children. All under... More

This truely was an amazing experience for us in Japan. Host and hostess are very welcoming and the rooms are clean and traditional. Beautiful view as well! And then we had dinner....what can I say? In Holland this is worth a star! It was as beautiful as it was delicious, and more than enough. We cherish the time we were... More

They open in Spring (end of April) but i dont see what that has to do with the Ryokan. This place is great! Beautiful scenery and right at the beginning of the Shrine trail that has sone of... More

I stayed at oshi ryokan for 3 nights in the winter season. I specifically chose togakushi area to stay in for all the ninja related activities and things to see but on arrival I was informed they had all closed down, the internet and the pamphlets still promoted them as open though which is deceiving. I was so disappointed as... More

Breath-taking scenery around the ryokan. Our two-night stay included dinner, Mr Oshi and his wife were so helpful and hospitable, providing us plenty of options and first-hand information. Knowing my son was so keen on trying out skiing, he made it possible through his contact and resources. Moreover, he took my son to the ski resort early in the morning... More

The owner, Hidenori, is really, really kind; he is the priest of a shinto shrine nearby and is always willing to help. His English is pretty good as well, and he enjoys talking, so we learned a lot of interesting things about the place and also about the culture of the country. The japanese style rooms are just amazing —... More
