I agree it is clean and in excellent location (metro few meters away, bus stop in front of doors, Nishiki market very close). But still we felt being squeezed into the room. The was no space where to put our suitcase,it stood unpacked for all 4 days stay as wardbrobe is of 4 hangers size. So we did not bother... More

Fantastic location, in fact just minutes away from subway station, numerous bus stations just at the doorstep, and 15 minutes train ride away from the Kyoto main station. Good value for money, albeit the room size, the room is very clean, with essential amenities. Guest service is great, there are coin operated washer/dryer available, and of course variety of vending... More

I must say that this hotel is very clean. Even better than some 5 star hotel. Very good location too. Room is quite small but all essential amenities are provided. The shower room water pressure is very good. The hotel have laundrette and the staff is very friendly too. Good choice of hotel.

I think this group of hotels is really underrated. This one had a fantastic location. Really central. the breakfast was pretty ordinary Japanese style. If you intend on getting out and seeing a lot of Kyoto chances are you won't be in the room for long anyway. The rooms are small but fine and we thought it was great value!

This hotel is in a centrally located area of Kyoto and on a main street not too far from the Kyoto Station. The rooms are small but comfortable and they have all the normal amenities including a yakata for your personal use. The hotel serves mainly Japanese cliental and provides a traditional Japanese breakfast each morning. The staff is friendly... More

Although the hotel is said to be 2 stars, it is very comfortable and you have everything in your room: air-conditioner, fan, toiletries, fridge, etc. The room is very clean and neat, they tidy it up every day. The personnel is polite and always ready to help you. Breakfast is included. Though for us it was a bit expensive, but it... More

Typical Toyoko-inn, it is not a place for honey moon trip, not a hotel for you to to sit and release for a whole day; It is a well located budget hotel with reasonably clean and comfortable place (priced considered). You will get free wifi too (as with many other Toyoko-inn, if not, you get wired interenet too) . It... More

Location is excellent. Bus stop (Shijo Takakura 四条高倉) at the front of hotel, the bus routes covers some key sightseeing areas. I stayed there during the last week of March and they posted at the lobby the temples and parks where there were cherry blossoms with the bus numbers. The Hankyu line and subway is connected and they are just... More

Due to booking a last minute trip to Kyoto in the middle of sakura season, there were hardly any hotel choices at all, so I decided to stay in this Toyoko Inn. Whichever hotel in the chain you're staying at, the rooms are very similar. It's a reliable budget hotel chain. The rooms are cramped but well planned, as expected... More

I stayed at this branch of Toyoko Inn in Kyoto for 4 nights, along with it's sister branches in Osaka and Tokyo on my month long trip to Japan this spring. Toyoko Inn not only has branches at the best locations in Japan but also offers affordable rates for its basic but comfortable rooms, and splendid amenities. The service provided... More
