The Hotel Keihan Kyoto is one of a number of hotels that are located along the south side of the Kyoto Station. It is a typical business hotel in the sense that the rooms are very small by western standards. The rooms are ~3m wide (~9.5 ft) with a double bed against one wall and a one person bathroom. The... This is a pretty old hotel that its age is evident in its smell and look. However, their hospitality makes up for it. Their staff are really accommodating and their rooms are very clean. The location is also perfect because it's right across the train station and at the same building with the mall.

Part of g adventures group. Big faceless hotel with clean rooms and comfy beds. Lobby is done up and it's pretty nice now. It's was in a brilliant location right next to station and all that had to offer. Room bigger than most I have stayed in Japan. Not got a very big bathroom at all but it's ok. Staff... More

If convenience is what you're after, this is the place. It's a fine place, nothing fancy and is right by Kyoto station. Get off the Shinkansen, and minutes later you're checking in. As you'll find in many Japanese hotels, the rooms are very small (to an American). Two adults in the room, with two pieces of luggage and we were... More

Unfortunately we've been signed on the floor that was not upgraded yet, just enough to check in to see the room and we decided to check out. Maybe next time when they completed I imagine the room will be as beautiful as the lobby. They supposed to mention to us when we check in for that situation, too bad.

I would never stay here again because of the service. The hotel itself is in a convenient location across the street from the Kyoto station. Rooms are well appointed with a kettle and instant coffee/tea; shampoos/lotions and clean. However, the wifi did not work at all from 5pm until 7am the next morning on any floor or lobby and this... Not a hotel for everybody, but for me it was a 4 1/2 star stay (rounded up to 5). Firstly the location. It is right beside Kyoto station which is a major plus for us - basically a 5 minute walk to the subway/train lines. However, if you are a bus user, the bus terminal is on the other side... More

I used this hotel for my business trip. After I got out Shinkan-sen in Kyoto station, It taken 5 min to get to the hotel. But it is trouble some to use underground path ,which is directly connected to the hotel if you have big suite case as there is no lift. It is better to use ground floor path... More

Very good facilities, buffet breakfast with a large selection of Western & Japanese dishes. Located 5 minutes from the station. Go down to the B1 floor & you get a large food court to select your preferred choice of cuisine. Laundry charges were a little overpriced however.
