The hotel is right across the Kyoto JR-train station. Taking the elevator down to the basement, lets you get to some decent quality restaurants, with underground passageways going to the station and bus terminal. The rooms are nice although a bit on the small side, but that is normal when traveling through Japan. The staff at the front desk is... More

We were lucky and got one of the nicest new rooms in the 13 th floor. Perfect rain shower and facilities. A big plus was the size of the room. Classical city hotel with perfect Location. In other cities you would rate it minimum 4 stars.

Maybe was bad luck but they have lost our reservation, considering I sent them the day before our luggage directly from the airport, it should be more disorganization. However we end up in a dark small room close to the main cooling system. Nobody was able to provide an explanation, as they don't speak English (including in the restaurant). The... More

Just an ordinary hotel. Nice staff though! Good location ner the station and the bus central, which makes it really easy to get around in Kyoto. they have a information desk for busses just outsider the entrance where they speak pretty good english.

The hotel is located across the street from Kyoto station and it is connected to a small shopping centre. You can get to some temples from the Kyoto station. The hotel is basic but clean. Staff are welcoming (as with most in Japan) and helpful. We were staying on the 29th floor and some renovation works being done on the... More

Hotel is conveniently located opposite to Kyoto station. Rooms are OK and service was attentive. As the hotel is currently undergoing renovation there was a bit of noise from the floor above us. Be aware though that most of the tourist attractions are not in central Kyoto (we wanted to rent a bike but from the hotel it is over... More

The hotel is located just opposite side to Kyoto station, connecting with shopping complex and coach station. Very convenience to go out anywhere. Kyoto is the most popular place to visit, therefore, this moderate rate hotel is always fully booked. Some guest complain about allowance of check-in & out time, but, considering the popularity, the 15:00 pm check-in and 10:00... More

Really poor hotel in every sense. I thought Japanese people were meant to be the friendliest in the world? They have been on every stop of our hotel the staff in this hotel are more like prison wardens then hotel receptionists Despite check in being at 2pm our rooms were not ready by the time we arrived at 2pm....appalling!! The... More

Pro: location; it's across the street from Kyoto station and the bus terminal, which makes it easy to get to and from major sites. Cons: too small for a triple room. We each had a suitcase and we had to push beds together to be able to open them; Wifi in the room rarely worked; the staff wasn't very helpful;... More

Room was clean and was good for the price. The location is awesome. Very convenient to go anywhere in Kyoto. Front desk customer service staff were excellent. Especially Mori. She was very helpful and friendly. The only issue we have is with a staff member (--) who wasn't very helpful at all. He didn't seem like he wanted to assist... More

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighborhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
