We were visiting Kyoto with our son who is working in South Korea and joined us for a week in Japan. We needed somewhere in a good location and with a triple room and used TA to help us locate this hotel. The hotel is excellent quality - good standard of rooms / beds / public areas / reception, There... More

We stayed at the Hotel in the first week of October, we had to catch a taxi from Kyoto station, but the subway was also an option. The staff were excellent and spoke reasonable English. The room we had was ok although the bed was up against the wall making it difficult to get in and out of bed. Being... More

Really impressed with this property. My room was incredibly large by any standards, even taking into consideration that I had booked a double because singles were sold out. The room includes all sorts of amenities, including pajamas. (Contrary to another reviewer's comments, they fit me just fine, and I'm a fairly large American.) At check-in, the hotel provided a comprehensive... More

The Staff at the front desk were friendly and you really feel like home - even though there is not much conversation. They show you that you are welcome. Room is small, but I guess all hotel room in Japan are small, and this is not a big deal - it is just for sleeping. They have a japanes bath... More

A nice, clean room which was much bigger than most of the other rooms we had on our 3 week stay in Japan. 2 minutes to the station and within easy walking distance of many of the temples and castles that are worth a visit when staying in Kyoto. Very friendly staff, who all spoke good English.

We are a family of four who stayed at the Mitsui Garden Sanjo for three nights during a holiday weekend in Kyoto. We had a large "family" style room that had three beds (sized something between a single and double bed) plus another twin bed. It was a bit cozy but comfortable and more than adequate (and preferable to booking... More

This hotel was a good for our stay in Kyoto. A little walk from the main areas but the room was an ok size and a small onsen with a garden view made it a pleasant place to stay. We thought we had paid for breakfast but it wasn't on the reservation but there were nice cafés nearby where we... More

This place offers a good location in Kyoto and the rooms and modern, clean and functional. Slightly larger than expected. Staff are very accommodating. We stayed during the Gion Matsuri and it was located right on the door step of all the action. The beer vending machine was great! Good value all round. Comfy beds and a good bathroom.

This a a clean and friendly hotel for budget oriented travelers. Rooms are very small, bathrooms, smaller. Don't even try the pajamas on the bed - no chance of fitting westerners. Close to many of Kyoto's attractions by bus or subway, and close to eating places.

The hotel is just minutes away from the metro station and right outside the hotel, there are some buses which you can take if you can't bear to walk 20 minutes to Shijo-dori/Gion.The greatest convenience for us was that there are a supermarket and a convenience 24/7 store very near the hotel. The Nishiki market is also just a short walk... More
