The location is a little obscure, being on a very small lane off the main road but I had a great stay here. The room was cozy; with tatami mats and futons, and very clean. The common area was a great place to meet fellow travelers and share experiences. The staff members were helpful too.

I stayed here 5 nights while in Kyoto. I paid extra for a room with a bathroom, but it was still a very affordable option. The staff are very friendly and there are lots of good travel advice and information in the common kitchen. The place is a relatively long walk from Kyoto station, but in a very quiet, old-fashioned... More

We'd booked a room for 3 people as our adult daughter was with us and we'd requested a bathroom. It was a longer walk from the station than we'd been told, especially when you have luggage. Our room was in an and up 3 flights of stairs with no lift either. For the price the accommodation was poor. It was... More

Is a bit of a walk from Kyoto station. Around 15-20mins. However the location for the bus station is close by the accomodation. You can also rent bicycles from the guest house. Cost about ¥600. The tatami beds were comfortable. we rented a room with a bathroom but the bathroom was a bit smelly. Otherwise everything else is good.

We stayed 4 nights in this guesthouse, located near Kyoto station (10 minutes walking). The welcome is very good, and the reception gives lots of information on the things to do in town. We had a room wtih shared bathrooms: the futon beds were quite comfortable although we sere sleeping on the tatamis, the bathrooms very clean, the common space... More

We decided to stay here because it was the cheapest guest house that would offer the Tatami experience. The room was okay. It's not as traditional as we hoped but there's a common area downstairs that we absolutely loved. The receptionists were pretty in their yukatas, but you have to walk another block from the reception area to the rooms.... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and wish we could of spent longer. It is very traditional style with a modern touch. The rooms were very small (very hard to fit 2 suitcases and a snowboard bag). There's a communal kitchen which we didn't use but would of been great for a longer stay. The staff speak great English, are... More

This could be a great place. The room was fine, price was good, location okay. Host was nice enough - though occasionally a bit abrasive. The internet was awkward to use and I was never actually able to connect. There were maps of nearby locations, but the locations looked MUCH closer than they were and the maps were poor. Host... We stayed in the 4 person with bath for 4 days. The location was wonderful. Easy to find, around the corner from 7-11 for breakfast or late night snacks. Great restaurants 2 short blocks away (eat at watami--you wont be sorry, cheap and GOOD)! Easy access to kyoto station. Service was good. We arrived at 630 at night- it was... More

We stayed in the Ikoi No Ie Anexo, it's an amazing place, so comfortable! Is a traditional place where you can enjoy of the futon, the tatamis and other things. We had a great time and got to know a lot of people sharing common space. It also has a lot of information available on places to visit, tours to... More
