Love the hotel staff and service. I highly recommend this place for tourists . Its short walk from the Catholic Church and Imperial Palace. I had the most relaxing and memorable time here. Its a must book place when you visit Kyoto. I will surely come back to this hotel again(^_^)

It is close to the train station, but I had to ask a passerby to find it. Absolutely no action surrounding the hotel, only one department store next door. It is very local, even though it is only one station ride on the local train to the central Kyoto station. Hotel itself is clean, small, normal amenities with 3 to... More

First of all, because there is no sign in English on the building, it is a little hard to find tough it is close to the train station. If you are coming from the JR station you need to get out of the station, cross the railways and it will be the first building on your right, named "Racto A"... More

1. No wifi in the rooms (although it said it on travelocity) 2. Poor rooms 3. Bad location... there is not much around the hotel although it is very close to the subway and the JR line. 4. staff friendly but limited english The only reason why we book this hotel is because we decided to stay in Kyoto one... When you find difficulty in finding accomodation in downtown Kyoto during the high season, this hotel is a good alternative as it is in front of JR Yamashina station , one station east from Kyoto. There are so many eatingplaces around and a supermarket, convenience stores and even a smaller scale of Department store neaby. There is a free public bath... More

We booked this hotel as most of the hotels in Kyoto were full or were extremely expensive (it was the Hanami season). At first I was disappointed to be outside of Kyoto but realized that the railway system in Japan is very well organized and easy access so going to the hotel was not a pain at all. The hotel... My fiance and I booked this hotel mainly for its pricing, especially after considering how hotel rates in Kyoto can be ludicrously high during the autumn season. However, coming up from Brighton City Kitahama in Osaka, we found Brighton City Yamashina older and less modern. In terms of room amenities, it was lacking a safe for valuables safekeeping, and wi-fi... More

I stayed a single night in this hotel while I was in transit to a work conference. I arrived an hour after my requested check-in time (and quite late at night) but was still greeted by friendly and attentive staff. For a single room, I felt that room was very spacious and the price was extremely reasonable. It was very... More

Everything was fully booked in Kyoto when we decided to go there. We found this location at a fare price and 10-20 minutes distance by train to Kyoto Central Station, connection by subway also available. They could not promise a non-smoking room, but, upon arrival, they solved this request and we got a clean and odourless room. The front desk... More

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighborhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
