My fiance and I booked this hotel mainly for its pricing, especially after considering how hotel rates in Kyoto can be ludicrously high during the autumn season. However, coming up from Brighton City Kitahama in Osaka, we found Brighton City Yamashina older and less modern. In terms of room amenities, it was lacking a safe for valuables safekeeping, and wi-fi... More

I stayed a single night in this hotel while I was in transit to a work conference. I arrived an hour after my requested check-in time (and quite late at night) but was still greeted by friendly and attentive staff. For a single room, I felt that room was very spacious and the price was extremely reasonable. It was very... More

Everything was fully booked in Kyoto when we decided to go there. We found this location at a fare price and 10-20 minutes distance by train to Kyoto Central Station, connection by subway also available. They could not promise a non-smoking room, but, upon arrival, they solved this request and we got a clean and odourless room. The front desk... More

We were very disappointed in this hotel. It was rated as one of the top 10 hotels in Kyoto and it was very expensive but in a good location. We arrived and the service was good and the staff friendly. The room was nice, nothing special though. It was the only hotel we have been to that charged to use... More

After travelling for 10 hours it was a wonderful relief to arrive at this hotel in Kyoto. The reception staff were professional, friendly and ensured that you had everything that you needed. The rooms are nicely decorated and have large windows to provide a view over some part of Kyoto. Given it was only 5 degrees or less the heating... More

The front desk staff were most helpful and friendly during our 8 day stay. The restaurant staff were very efficient and the food was amazing. My daughter and I felt very well cared for during our stay. (lest I forget, the housekeeping staff were excellent!)

Brilliant business class hotel. Good rooms and buffet breakfast at reasonable price. Free LAN computer connection available in the rooms. Very convenient for Kyoto and surroundings as there are literally trains every few minutes from the station until late at night - journey about 5mins to Kyoto JR stn. Hotel is located 50m from station exit yet is very quiet... More

While this hotel is not directly in Kyoto, the Yamashina train station is directly across the street. A five minute train ride costing 180 yen on the local JR train brings you direct to the Kyoto station, where you can access a vast rail network (including the Shinkassen line to Tokyo or Osaka. Also, just outside the hotel door are... More

This was a real find - a Japanese friend booked it for us. It is located in Yamashina just five minutes away from Kyoto station and at 15,000 yen per night represents real value. The hotel is new, spotlessly clean and the rooms are well presented.Breakfast is excellent with a mixture of Western and Japanese food. There is a range... More
