The hotel is very clean, all bed linens and towels are changed every day. The access from Kyoto Station is either using metro or by taxi (taxi cost is about 1200 JPY). The hotel is very close (walking distance) to International Manga Museum and the short distance (two bus stops) to Nija Castle. The free wired Interned and Wi-Fi is... More

Tiny room, typical of Japanese budget hotels. This is just an old hotel since they are still using an actual key for the room (that you have to give to the concierge everytime you go out). Location is relatively convenient but the only thing within walking distance is nijo castle. To go to Gion, Pontocho or major shopping area, you... More

It's my first time to stay in this hotel, because I take part in Kyoto marathon 2014 and I booked the room of hotel via the authorities package solution. I arrive the hotel in a snow morning and desk manager and their staff kindly help me very early check-in the hotel. Really thank you so much!

In novemer 2012, I spent one week in this hotel. The location is really good: two minutes walking distance from Karasumaoike subway station, which is where the 2 subway lines in Kyoto meet. The room was small, but very clean. The staff was really friendly, kind and helpful (they even provide the adaptors for sockets free of charge ). The... More

If you're looking for quality budget accommodation then this is it! The Kyoto Garden Hotel is ideally located near the Imperial Palace Gardens and other top sightseeing areas. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help. The actual hotel is clean and well looked after although an older style hotel and has wifi available throughout.... More

We stayed here 2 nights and had a pleasant experience. The whole place has a brown 70's decor going on and the rooms are pretty small, but it is very clean and well kept. Staff is friendly. Located very close to the station and in walking distance from many sights.

Stayed here as part of a work trip so I didn't specifically choose it but I wasn't impressed. The desk staff were pleasant enough but the rooms were nothing special. They were small with no hanging space which is not uncommon in Japan but they did feel very budget. The bathroom especially was outdated and rather like a caravan bathroom.... More

This hotel is very close to the subway station and it is not too far from Kyoto station. The room is small, really small. The loo is nearly the size of the loo from a BA plane! There is no wardrobe and if you have a big luggage you may not be able to open it! There is no breakfast... More

The hotel is located conveniently with just 2 min walk from Karasumaoike subway station, which is where the 2 subway lines in Kyoto meet. It is in the middle of the business district so it is surrounded by office buildings. However, the area is quiet at night and there are not many restaurants nearby, so finding a good place to... Our second hotel during a 10 day trip in Kyoto in December 2013. Noticed that the reception staffs during our 2 night stay there are middle aged males (probably early to mid forties) whilst almost all other hotels have younger males and females managing the reception desk. It is of course not a problem and they are very professional and... More
