Rediculously priced for a very average hotel, standard sized tiny Japanese room, we were forced to have a smoking room which was rank, and the breakfast is nothing like the pictures and average, once food runs out its not restocked and found hair in the food - all in all very very overpriced for the standard (especially on weekends when... The hotel is located a ten-minute walk south-west of Kyoto station. By western standards the rooms are quite small. There is hardly any space for your luggage and there is no wardrobe. The bathroom is well-appointed but rather tiny, too. Breakfast is self-service and mainly Japanese food such as tofu, yakisoba, rice, miso-soup, nori, coleslaw and pickles. However, there are... My wife and I had been travelling around Asia for 3 months and needed a night near Kyoto station before catching a train to Tokyo the next morning. After slumming it out in some places, we decided to raise our budget and spent just under £100 for 1 night at plaza hotel. Before our experience at plaza we have had... More

It's not a luxurious hotel but I am happy with the rate and the location. Location- its just across a Mall thats behind the JR Kyoto Train Station. Its a 10 minute walk to the Kyoto train station passing thru AEON mall. They say is 200 meters. Behind the hotel is Toji Temple a 10 minute walk. A beautiful Temple... More

If you are looking for an American hotel, this is not for you. If you want the Japanese experience, then this is perfect! We really enjoyed it! By American standards it is very small. The bathroom is kind of like what you would have on a cruise ship. You have to "step up" into it. It has the traditional Japanese... More

I picked this hotel because of price and location to the JR trains. It was about a ten minute walk. It was a small room but we had selected the semi double so expectations across japan are that you do not get a big room unless you pay for it. The bed was a bit hard and the pillow small... More

Stayed for 2 nights. The rooms are very small but very clean and good enough for two people. Bath is small too but they have a good public bath. Breakfast was excellent too. Way better than a cheap american continental breakfast. Staff is very friendly. I left some luggage there and they even shipped it back to me for free.

- 10 to 15 min walk from Kyoto Train Station co-located with the Toji Subway Station. - Nice serene view of the pagodo and the hotel is clean especially the annex block which is newly furnished. Carpet is clean and new. - Breakfast included which is quite simple but good spread. - Aeon shopping complex (with cinema) is just a... More

The hotel room was very small and it was very difficult to open three luggages. The hotel was not very close to the station and needed to walk around 15 mins to go to kyoyo station. The breakfast time started from 6:30 am to 9:30am which was short and early. And the check out time was 10am , if you... More
