I have too many nice things to say about the B&B and Keiko, the owner. I stayed here for three nights and had emailed Keiko to ask about a/c in the room since I was coming from Germany and had basically melted there. When I finally arrived (which Keiko was very nice and came out to meet me after I... More

It was a fantastic experience. Very quiet and peaceful accommodation, yet lots of restaurants and cafes round the corner on the main road. Keiko was a very helpful lady, our journey to Osaka would not have been so easy without her guidance. Our sincere thanks to her!

Me and my wife wanted to try real Japanese accommodation and we got it. Before travel to Japan read a lot of good words about this B&B and were happy to book it. Keiko gave us good instructions how to get there and all was not complicated: Best option is bus #17 from JR station. Juno is situated in a... More

My flight arrival at Kansai airport was after 9 pm and I got to BnB Juno just before midnight on an airport shuttle. The owner Keiko Kariya was there waiting for me, as arranged. Some BnB owners refused to take late arrivals. My wife and I stayed four nights and it was very enjoyable stay for us. For those arriving... More

Juno is in a lovely old Japanese house between Kyota University and the Silver Temple. It's a B&B so shared bathroom and toilet but very clean.Beds are comfy tatami style and our room was clean and quiet. Keiko the owner made lovely Japanese style breakfasts gave good advice about kyoto and also was great fun to talk to, The owner's... More

The owner Keyko is very sweet and she cooked our delicious breakfast everyday. She also speaks good Portuguese and it helped me a lot! The house is very nice and cozy, we just didn't want to leave. If you want to immerse in Japanese culture, Juno is the place you have to stay.

B & B Juno was a great experience. Keiko our hostess also owns Keiko B & B . She went out of her way to make us as comfortable as possible. It is a very affordable option. WE went out for our evening meal but had a very nice breakfast. We spent more the following night at a traditional Ryokan,... More

My friend and I stayed at B&B Juno for 4 days whilst in Kyoto, I can only give it a strong recommendation. The B&B is a beautiful house situated down a quiet side street. The room was very comfortable. Keiko was an great host and prepared an excellent Japanese breakfast every morning (the option of a western breakfast was there... More

A great japanese traditional experience but in the same time you'll feel like being home. It's next to the Path of Philosophy and Ginkaku-ji Temple but a little far from the center of Kyoto (15/20 min in bus)

We stayed here for a week and loved it. It is in a nice area near Ginkakuji and well serviced by buses and easy to get around although would be hard to find initially. We caught a taxi from JR station and gave the driver the printout of Japanese instructions to get there. Keiko who runs it is very nice... More

Staying in City Center

Neighborhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
