We stayed at the Hyatt the first night after our flight from the US. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Easy to reach, hotel was a peaceful haven and the room very comfortable. The food was delicious, especially the breakfast. The staff was very attentive and impressively bilingual. What wonderful beginning to a great vacation.

We spent a weekend here to do a whirlwind tour of shrines and temples. The manager, Ken Yokoyama, could not have been more solicitous. He greeted us warmly, offered his help and came through with brochures and maps of the area. The facility was beautiful and spotless, from all public areas to the guest rooms. The breakfast buffet was incredible,... More

I stayed in the hotel for a work function with 120 of my colleagues and was incredibly impressed. The staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast spread is expansive and the rooms are well appointed. The safe has a power outlet within it which means you can charge your devices while they are... More

We stayed here for 5 nights as tourists. It's very near the national museum and a few temples, and within 20 minute walk of many others including the Gion. 5 minute taxi ride from Kyoto station. The hotel is elegant - modern - Japanese, beautiful lobby. Breakfast in the lobby restaurant was great. Service is excellent all around. 5 *... More

I spent 6 nights at the Hyatt - 3 nights then one night away in the outskirts of Kyoto then another 3 nights there. I found the reception efficient and friendly. They got the job done but they impressed me when we checked back in the second time but they noted all our previous requests and everything was set up... More

Had an enjoyable stay here. Enjoyed the bakery/cafe a but too much :) which had a wide range of delicious treats. The rooms were well designed and cozy, service was excellent and concierge good at recommending and booking fine restaurants in gion where mainly locals enjoy. Location wise it's not too far from Gion however a bit of a distance... More

I have to admit that I am more than slightly baffled by some of the negative reviews of this hotel. Our experience was great from beginning to end when we stayed here for 2 nights in May 2014. We arrived running late from Tokyo as we had dinner reservations in Kyoto, front desk said they would take care of communicating... More

Loved our stay. This was our wedding anniversary trip, and hotel staff made us feel very special. We got a free upgrade to a larger room, which was lovely and quiet. They attended to all our needs. We ended up having our celebration dinner at the hotel's Touzan restaurant, which was wonderful too. One word of caution for business travellers... More

I did stay 3 nights on a vacation trip. I liked very the location and the general condition of the hotel. The room was very good and quiet. Bathroom configuration was a little bit odd, but that was not an issue for me. Concierge service was quite nice as well as reception. I had issues ate the Japanese restaurant as... More
