We stayed in Kyoto for two nights in April and thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful hotel. We had stayed the week previous at the Hyatt Regency Tokyo, which is a big, busy hotel. Its counterpart in Kyoto is much more subdued and very Japanese in décor as well as atmosphere. We received excellent service with everyone with whom we came in... More

One of my most pleasant hotel stays. We had a large room overlooking a Koi pond. Paid a high price for it but it was worth every penny. The Japanese restaurant downstairs was not crowded and the food was excellent. Bar nearby was likewise very good...be sure to sit at the bar for better atmosphere and to watch the bartender... More

We recently traveled to Kyoto with our 5 year old son. Every day we would go visit a site in the morning and return to the Hyatt for a nap in the afternoon before venturing out for the evening. It was the perfect place to return to every afternoon. It felt so calm and relaxing. My dream was always to... More

The Hyatt Regency Kyoto is tops in all categories (including price). Nice. Very nice. I liked the location – a bit out of the mainstream, but right next door to two terrific attractions (Sanjusangen-do and Kyoto National Museum). It's also on the bus line, and an easy walk to the Gion district and a lot of other parks/shines are nearby.... More

Among many other Western Chain Hotel Brands, I think that Hyatt Regency Kyoto is for sure one of the best to stay in Kyoto. It is located in a very central location in this wonderful city. Hotel is managed by a top notch general manager and this hotel has extremely friendly staff. Internet is a bit slow and cumbersome to... More

We stayed here for 2 nights recently - it was the only available hotel when we booked some 6 months prior - clearly you need to book early during the high season. We felt the hotel was very expensive in terms of value for money - paid $450 pn for standard room without breakfast. Rooms are a little on the... More

Great location, exceptional staff members who speak English well. Room was quiet and bed very comfortable. Bath room, shower / deep bath tub were clean and functional. Easy to access Kyoto station by taxi or by bus. Across from Kyoto national museum and Sangisegundo temple

Highlight: Extremely manicured property with park-hyatt like service and attention to detail. Rooms are beautifully decorated. Rooms: The rooms are on the small side, but it's beautifully decorated. See pictures. Extras: They give you a coupon for 3000 JPY for the Spa or any of the restaurants. Dining: Tratoria Sette was fantastic and reasonably priced. Breakfast at the Grill can... More

I think this hotel was newly renovated. The rooms were very nice. and the morning buffet breakfast was quite good with a beautiful Sakura outside the breakfast room window. I think it is a little out of the way but a short cab ride to Gion etc. is not a problem The service was very good and the building is... More

Very stylish contemporary Japanese decor, with fine service and friendly assistance for every request. A National Museum and a temple are on the doorstep, a pleasant walk along the Kami river is nearby and it is easy to get to other parts of the city.
