We stayed in a Regency suite, please note that this review is only based on this room. All suites are of the 5th floor. Top floor with interesting views on the city. The rest of the members of our group stayed in rooms in B1 (-1) floor, nice functional rooms but boring and with no view. Our room was perfect... More

Great hotel for exploring beautiful a Kyoto - spotless service and room. For sites, don't miss Nara, Golden pavilion, Fushimi Inari, Nanzen-ji and Kiyomizu temple (the latter two by bike - follow the river down from Nanzen to Gion - great route).

We stayed in Kyoto for three days and were treated especially nicely. Our room was upgraded and the room we got was amazing! So spacious and so many amenities. The concierges and the people who worked at the front desk were so accommodating. Breakfast was great and the hotel itself is within walking distance of a number of attractions.

Extremely small room. Amongst the smallest we've stayed in Japan. At ¥26,000/night you'd expect something bigger and more comfortable. Furniture looked worn off. Design of the room felt more like a motel than a 5-star hotel. Would not recommend this hotel unless you can get a good deal at less than ¥15,000/night.

The hotel is an oasis of peace and comfort, especially in the summer heat, returning to cool, calm luxury from the outside humidity. Service is excellent. I have yet to meet a concierge of the calibre of Ms. Pickup who not only remembered us each day despite a hotel full of hundreds of guests, but pro-actively gave us the best... More

Was strongly recommended by a well travelled friend to stay at this hotel when we visit Kyoto. It is lovely hotel with great value for money but what made it special was their most impressive service. As a regular traveller to Tokyo, I am used to superlative service that is typical in Japan but what I experienced at Grand Hyatt... More

Frist time stay in Hyatt brand as normally I travelled with Shangri-la or Starwood hotel, but this time I was attracted from the room design, which the bed headboard inspired from kimono silk, I found it really beautiful and just because of this, I would like to give me first try here. Room was indeed great as I read from... More

we stayed in the Hyatt for four nights and got an upgrade to a beautiful suite! Room was beautiful, so is the rest of the hotel. We love the interior design! Great room including onsen in the bathroom. Spacious room with balcony, loved standing out and watching the world go by and hearing the noises particularly from the temple down the road. Intimate bar, good food, hard to fault this. We were early for checkin, but looked after with drinks whilst we waited for the room to be made up. Lots... More

Stayed for 3 nights for our first visit to Kyoto. After an initial mix up with our room all went smoothly. The hotel is away from the main downtown area but only a couple of stops on the MTR; but is located within walking distance of a couple of the major temples or a short taxi/train ride. We ate in...
