I think this hotel was newly renovated. The rooms were very nice. and the morning buffet breakfast was quite good with a beautiful Sakura outside the breakfast room window. I think it is a little out of the way but a short cab ride to Gion etc. is not a problem The service was very good and the building is... More

Very stylish contemporary Japanese decor, with fine service and friendly assistance for every request. A National Museum and a temple are on the doorstep, a pleasant walk along the Kami river is nearby and it is easy to get to other parts of the city.

Staying at the Deluxe Balcony room located on the 5th floor of the hotel, facing onto a central courtyard. A very quiet, calm room, highly recommended to stay at this type of room and check the Japanese wooden bath. Breakfast at the Grill is also wonderful, you can order a complete Japanese breakfast as well. All of the staff is... More

We stayed here two nights on our trip to Kyoto and Tokyo in april 2015. The service at this hotel is truly up to standards! Rooms are big and clean, but I would rather rate them 4-star. It is not very modern, and lacks the little touches of decoration and attention that would make it great. Bathrooms however are great,... More

Rooms are small...like New York or Paris, and no turn down service. Seems more like a regular Hyatt than a Regency Hotel: hence a disappointment. Breakfast not included, yet still expensive. Location is next to a Temple and Museum, so that is a plus. No pool present or Hot Tube.

Great stay in the largest hotel room we have ever stayed in. Was traveling with family that had a 3 year old and 80+. With SPG Gold got upgraded with large Japanese room with incredible shower and wooden tub. Only draw back is location takes a long 10 minute walk to reach the subway/train station. Excellent Buffett breakfast with eggs,... More

Never thought I would have given this place 5 stars. Even though we had booked our trip 6 months in advance, Kyoto is very popular especially during Sakura season and all the luxury hotels that our travel agent and I had looked into were totally booked. We were therefore "forced" into going to this property. I wasn't able to get... More

The Hyatt Kyoto is an exceptional hotel. Well located and personnel fantasic. Have a problem or a situation - just ask for Ken { Hotel Maneger } and he will take care of your needs. I think he works 28 hours a day. Fantastic city, Great hotel. Very good restaurants - what else can you ask for??

The property's location and classic Japanese service did not disappoint. The room was excellent, food exceptional, and service untouchable. Situated within walking distance to many of the temples, shopping, and restaurants make this hotel choice a no brainer.

Hyatt Regency Kyoto is about a 5 minute ride by taxi from the Kyoto JR Station. The hotel is in wonderful condition, the rooms are large, and most of all the staff is excellent. The Hyatt is a little farther from the action that is around Kyoto Station, but is a short walk to one of the two Kyoto Metro... More
