The bamboos planted at the entrance are very stylish. No one could afford to miss the Japanese style breakfast and superb rice bread at the posh bakery. Very polite and helpful staff. The Gym room is great as well.

I had lots of trouble locating or finding the perfect place to stay in Kyoto especially that there are so many choices around the city scattered in different areas. I have heard great things about Hyatt Regency and I found myself a good deal on an online booking site so I decided to give it a shot. We stayed here... More

I was visiting Kyoto with a nephew who is living in Japan teaching English. I chose the Hyatt Regency for several reasons. I wanted a hotel where I could be assured I could be assured that the staff could speak English. I also wanted the hotel to serve an English/American breakfast. And I wanted the hotel to include a good... More

Good location, wonderful Japanese inspired rooms though very hard beds and pillows. Italian restaurant good. Breakfast needs work. Front desk staff very nice. Feels like a larger hotel than it is but very "American" friendly.

My husband and I arrived in Kyoto at 9 AM after having flown to Japan from San Francisco. The minute we arrived, the hotel gave us a bottle of cold water each (realizing how HOT it was in August) and did their very best to check us in early (like 6 hours early). We ended up only having to wait... More

Hotel is located directly opposite national museum. Hospital is around the block which I had to visit due to allegic reaction to insect bites. The staff of hotel were brilliant. .they escorted me around to A&E and paid for bill. Two main restaurants are in hotel and if you wish to 'celebrity watch' this is the place. Hotel serves both... Great hotel - v friendly staff but not cheap to eat In The italian or French styled restaurants. Rooms quite small but garden view. Great location - walkable or short taxi ride from Station and pick up points for all tours!

We have spent five nights in this hotel in a deluxe king room. The room was great with a direct view on the Japanese garden. Decoration is "superbe", the bed is great and wide, bathroom is exceptional, a perfect shower. And I have really appreciated to have the option to chose a smoking room. Wifi : high speed is great... I went here this early August with my big family, and it was my second time to stay in Hyatt Regency Kyoto (the first one was in May 2010). Still the same great hospitality, decent hotel with serenity, and delicious food. The room I had on my first visit was a bit small, but to compare with other hotel in... More

Without getting into too much detail, the staff at this Hyatt completely blew me away with their generosity and kindness in helping me out with a situation that they didn't have anything to do with, but they restored my faith in humanity. I mean, we're talking about "above-and-beyond" type things. I will forever be grateful and will stay here every... More
